Cindy Sheehan is a bit of a nut, but she has the right to be, and more importantly, the core part of her message is a good one - her son was sent to Iraq to rid them of WMDs. Of course she didn't motivate people all by herself, but she is a symbol that resonates with a LOT of people.

The funny thing is you think people who oppose the war and the president are the idiots who are being fed propaganda and can't see the truth.

I'll try to make this simple.

We invaded Iraq because Bush chose to do so.

Fine if you want to go to war cause we feel like it. But why can't he get the job done? Whether or not you support his initial decision to invade, he can't seem to get the job done. (Things certainly don't seem to be getting any better based on # of Iraqis who have decided to blow themselves up in the past 2-3 months)

My prediction:

- 3 more years of Iraq mess under Bush - 5,000-6,000 American soldiers dead, 15,000-20,000 seriously injured/maimed.

- Republican wins in 2008:
a) The new president kicks the war effort up, sends another 50,000-100,000 troops and spends another $150-300 billion in a final effort to "fix it for good". This goes on for a few more years, is still a failure, and we finally pull out after even greater losses

b) The new President pulls out immediately or very quickly to limit losses

- Democrat wins in 2008:
- Immediate or very quick pullout to limit losses

In all three situations Iraq devolves into Civil war - not going to guess whether Democracy or Islamic Law wins.


And don't go blaming anything on American citizens at home, protesters, or other people in the government. Bush made the decision to go to war, Bush appointed the people making the decisions.
