Iran - Nuclear

Things are getting hotter and hotter each day. Anyone got any comments? Looks like Part 2 of the new middleeastern saga is about to begin.

I think the Jerky Boys said it best, "I am going to bomb that fucking place... I kill you, I kill you."

True that !!!

Additionally, Isreal will probably bomb the shit out of their nuclear facilities before anyone else does. I don't believe that they will wait for U.N. approval either.

Just curious since I dont know, but what value does Iran have to the rest of the world if any? Are they just your run of the mill oil country or what?

Yes.

11 countries make up OPEC, which has more than 3/4 of the worlds' oil reserves. Iran is one of them. Their criteria for entering OPEC - oil is your only real revenue.

They sit on the largest oil supply in the world. The newly 'elected' president has recently made some really nice statements along the lines of Isreal must be eliminated and that the Holocoust never happened. He's also making a big push for nukes.

They are probably thinking the same thing about us.

"Looks like they are going to attack us if we try to make weapons to either defend ourselves or attack someone or do nothing with. May as well make them as a deterrent...."

They know they are next on the list. Shit, Iraq didn't have them but we knew they were going after them so we invaded. I'd be doing the same thing as Iran if I were them.

Who cares about the oil? I have no problem paying $10 a gallon. Better than blowing up a country.

Bush won straight up twice!

Anyhoo, Iran is turning down a path that will likely have serious consequences in the future. Losing support from Russia and China is huge. I wouldn't be surprised if you see Israel launch another preemptive strike against Iran's nuclear assets to prevent their completion. This will likely be followed by strong condemnation from several European nations in order to appease the Muslims while secretly sending letters of praise back to Israel.

I personally think we should send over a couple fully loaded B2s and take out each and every suspected nuclear asset in Iran and then take full credit for it. While on their way home, the pilots could also go wake up Kim Jong Il and put that lunatic out of his misery. Who should complete the trifecta?

I agree 100%, nuke all those fuckers, turn the sand into glass and come back when it cools and take that oil.

There WILL never be peace in the middle east, they have been fighting for 3000 years, why fucking bother.

My understanding is China and Russia have very different relationships with Iran then we do..

Because they want that oil.

I could see Israel being the one to attack. But it'd be a total mess as Israel would have to cross other countries to attack.

They already did it once and everyone else in the Middle East talked big but never did a thing. The only military between them and Iran that could stop them is the United States in Iraq and I seriously doubt we will get in their way should they choose to bomb them.

Remember that back in 1973, Egypt and Syria invaded Israel and caught them completely off guard. Israel proceeded to drive Syrian army back across the 1967 cease fire line. Shortly there after, the IDF focused their attention on the Egyptian assult and drove them back into Egypt in about 10 days. The IDF continued to push into Egypt until the Soviet Union threatened military action and the UN called a cease fire. No one in Israel's immediate area could stop them from bombing Iran.

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if Israel already has some F-117s.

They'd be so easy to cover up.

So Israel can do a premptive strike against Iran, but Iran can't do one against Israel? They are both threatening each other....

Let them handle their own problems. We already pissed off enough people in that area. If they wanna die over some shitty little peice of infertile land, let them. They could buy the equivalent of that in peaceful nevada desert for the price of one warplane. But GAWD is the big issue here. Fuck them, let them die for their god. I'd just move my ass away. But no, they are treating it more like "Whoever has more faith will stay". Unfortunately there is no way to win since neither side wants to make any concessions to the other side.

Whenever religion is involved in a large scale conflict, common sense and logic seem eerily absent.

There is the all but confirmed rumor that Israel has been a nuclear power for the last 30 years and hasn't used them yet.

The rhetoric that issues from Iran both religious and political calls for the annihilation of both Israel and the west (USA).
Your Mom, Dad and kids.

The calculus is that the Arabs and Persians already hate the Israelites as much as possible so
"Freedom is nothing left to lose"

The Iranians want nukes so we won't invade etc. period. Unfortunately once they have this there is no telling what they will do including giving one to Al Qaeda. Good bye so USA port city. It can blow while the ship is still in NY harbor and still kill 1 million and ruin our economy.

One additional scary thing is usually a democracy focuses power in the more stable citizenry but now the Muslims seem to want to elect religious wackos so maybe the bring democracy to the middle east ....not so smart

Isreal is only acting in self-defense. If Iran wasn't a hostile nation, there would be no problem.
