Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?Yeah I read it a couple years ago when it came out. Its an excellent book. Dan Brown actually wrote another book before The DaVinci code called "Angels and Demons" which imo is even better. Angels and Demons does come first and DaVinci Code even references it but you can read them out of order with out a problem. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?I love to read, and only heard good things about those books, but what is it about? Right now I have been into reading Nicholas Sparks novels (The Notebook and other novels from him), which are more like tragedy/love stories...don't think it's the same kind of reading. IS Angels and Demons and Davinci Code more like intrigue stories? |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?These books are whats called Historical Fiction. They are essentially murder/mystery type books but with a lot of interesting theories and such about history. For example in DaVinci Code they follow a trail that has clues hidden in DaVinci paintings and other old art pieces. I would suggest just reading a brief synopsis on amazon.com or something for better details. I dont want to give away too much with my explanation. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?I read both as well.. I think I agree with Angels and Demons being the better of the two although they all blend together for me. There is a 3rd one too, but I can't even remember if I read it. Warning these books are NOT suitable for evangelical eyes! If that's you go read the Left Behind series. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?My girlfriend (a jew) gave my grandma (devote hardcore french-canadian catho who lives in a convent, literally, church 6+ times a week) the Davinci Code for Christmas. Yes, Christmas. How ironic! Gotta give her credit, she still read it even after saying "Yeah, I heard about this book...." when we gave it to her. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?ISTR even discussing one of these with a priest who didn't have all that much of a problem with it. People need to just not take themselves so seriously, it amazed me that people could get so angry about the Da Vinci Code. BTW the Left Behind books are a series that is/were all the rage with evangelicals. The Apocalypse comes and God/Jesus come down and kill everyone but the Christians and it follows the story of a bunch of hard-core Christians through it.. Haven't read any of them but we've got a copy of one so maybe I should. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?I've read all his books (that I know of). Deception Point, Angels and Demons, DaVinci Code and one about a super computer at the NSA that I cannot recall the name of. The plots get kinda repetitive. |

Anyone read "The Da Vinci Code"?Dan Brown is just Micheal Crichton for this decade. Very similar in that each book fits into the same plot mold.. just slightly different settings, more use of religion and history vs. science, etc... |
