Where's the outrage?!

i think we should have a fight
the dumb uneducated guys vs. the mit harvard smart guys
it could be great we could meet up like in anchorman and have our own little outfits
i wanna be on the spanish channel team and my weapon of choice is the bat with nails through it
whos in
the meeting place can be next weeks bike night
but if you guys cant get your weapons mad in time or cant make it or it rains we can postpone it
but i will be there regardless with my ass tight polyester suit and greased hair
i know the suit wouldnt be the best protection if i crash on the ride up but at least i will look cool
maybe we can even borrow some lawtown rider vest to determine who is on what team but who ever wears them has to take out the bulletproof panels
that would just be unfair

haha. I'll certainly take the beer, but seeing Pete do some more KLR antics on another group ride would also work just as well.

That is incorrect. AI monitors any and all forms of human rights violations, not just one's that come from some form of government.

I do not recall anyone in this thread making statements about tax breaks. Hence, you can not then create a strawman agrument about such for the purpose of attributing logical error or social inconsistancy.

In short, as a world leader likes to say, try to "stay the course."

I appologize as you are correct. They also didn't comment on the killing of innocent Iraqi civilians by the marines that were recently brought up on charges by the military. If they had said something about both of these I am sure a number of people on this forum would have been enraged by them calling out the military again and nary a word would have been said about them calling out the insurgents.

I agree with your original statement, Bryan...

"where's the outrage?"

I still haven't seen anything closely resembling that in this thread from our friends on the left side.

There were soldiers brutally executed by the same sorry fucks who want to kill ALL of us, including those who might sympathize with them. What about that?????

Sorry, wanting our troops home so this doesn't happen again |= siding with the enemy. It gets made out like "those liberals" want our troops to die and want to hug the enemy. Unfortunately it's not so easy to label people when you aren't trying to discredit an opinion.

We've seen it happen more times than this and will continue to. Does it make it right? Not a bit. We are an occupying force in a hostile land. It will happen again.

Then again, it could be as simple as the "kill all the bad guys" statements. Yes, if they were all dead, we wouldn't have this issue. And yes, we are making progress. Two years from now if a soldier is captured and killed I expect more people to be "outraged" and want to go kill the people responsible and end this whole thing. No shit, that's what the military has been trying to do for 3+ years now. Be angry, be upset, feel for our troops but don't be surprised.

No, we leave that to the people who want to lower taxes yet have a massive military.

Mmmmm, logic tastes GOOD.

I think indirectlly, the issue has been addressed. Speaking for myself, (and I assume I am lumped in the "left side"), I dont really see a need to express outrage over the acts of Al Quedia. Why? Becuase it is obvious; they are fucking insane. They only thing that really suprises me about this recent torture / murder is that it has only happened a few times. I would expect them to be doing this shit as much as often as they could. Moreover, the world knows exactully what to expect to Al Queida, they do not hold themselves out to be something they are not. and without any argument, they are fucking crazy and need to be stopped.

and then there is the USA. the reason some people may seem quick to jump the acts of the american government is that often we claim to the "leaders of the free world", and then we run around invading other countries, torturing people to death, and throwing internationsl human rights out the window. and therein lies a serious contridiction. am I going to call bullshit on that? damn right I am, and I am going to do so b/c I want this country to *remain* one of the best in the world.

I had actually heard it on an ABC news radio update. This was the only thing I can find, and it's an editorial. So far as I can tell, the only official statement from the gov't is that the soldiers were brutalized and the bodies were in such terrible condition they had to be flown to Maryland for DNA testing.

Thanks (well, not really - wish it just didn't occur but thanks for the info) but I was wondering what media outlet had that. I had heard (as in - from a human) that they had been found a day or two after they had gone missing but that due to their condition they had to confirm with forensics here as well. So the gov was waiting a few to announce to the media and weren't sure what they would be sharing as of the time it actually went to press. Sensational media aside, I'm just suprised those details made it out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that increased failed attempts at insurgent detainment without a marked increase in ordnance, courtesy of whoever did that to our guys.

It's funny...the people that cry about Gitmo and Abu Garib (whatever) now have NOTHING to say about this.
All I have to say about this is.... "PUSH THE BUTTON" and "GAME OVER". Nukem all, let God/Alah/Buddah sort them out
