Unvarnished request for you to vote Republican for your congressional candidates

Here is my reasoning:

George Bush is not on the ballot. I am older then most of you. I remember the last time we wanted to spank the republicans for a Presidential sins. We ended up with Jimmy Carter a fair carpenter but horrid President. The end of the Carter years Inflation and mortgage rates were near 20%. There was a total recession. People were discussing the possible dominance of the Soviet Union. The greatest was not to support the Shah of Iran and his over throw the was the beginning of the radical Moslem control of Iran.

Most of my reasons for keeping the congress in the Republican hands is it can be MUCH worse. The democrat leadership is no longer the patriotic party of the labor movement and the common man. The leaders that would control the congress are ultra liberals. The SDS radical hippies are now old enough and some crazies are near the reigns of power… scary but true.

The war in Iraq sucks but remember almost every democrat was for it back in the beginning so it was an across the board screw the pooch not just GWB. If we send the ultra liberals to run congress they will defund the war and demand the troops come home. Just like in Vietnam here’s what will happen. There will be a civil war and 2 to 3 million will be killed. When the smoke clears Iran will be in charge either directly or through a Shia (sp) puppet government. They will declare justly total victory for Muslim and terrorists and begin to fund greater attacks on the weak Americans. This instability will drive USA gas prices beyond $4.00 per Gallon.

Here are some things the Democrats promised they would do if put in charge. Their promises not my speculation.

They would move for a 25% tariff of all China imported goods. This is a promise to the AFL-CIO . With the sole exceptions of some base industries like steel this will not save a single USA job. Labor rates are 100/ month in China and the government subsidizes industrial investment (not discourages it). A 25% tariff will result in a price increase of all consumer items and give the Federal Government the effect of 200 billion tax increased paid for by Walmart etc shoppers.

Every tax cut will be reviewed for elimination. They would have you believe the rich got the tax breaks but almost every tax paying family saved near 2000 from the bad Bush tax cuts. They promise to balance the budget but have never done it in History. The only attempt to do this is by raising taxes. Consumer spending not large investment are the only reason the economy is running along well right now.

Energy.. The democrats backed by the EPA , neo communist ACLU, and the trial lawyers have utterly killed the Chemical Industry and energy production in the US. Only Grandfathered refineries and wells are still running. They have blocked all new Nuke plants and the existing ones are running to the end of their service life. They whine about this but block all reasonable sources. They blocked sulfur coal because of acid rain killing forests but 30 years later the tree dies without the dreaded sulfur coal but no one says oopps sorry you had to spend 1/3 more for 30 years for NOTHING. The list of muddle head decisions has no end. The will STOP all real sources and give grants for people to search for the hydrogen fairy

They hate the military and will examine all military procurement. That will translate to a further reduction of your family’s safety.

Hearings and impeachments. They are champing at the bit to try George Bush as pay back for the Clinton Impeachment proceedings. You should be afraid for the TV covereage alone. I would say it unconscionable in time of war but as stated they would be cutting and running by then and surrendering so maybe not a conflict.


They promise to reinvigorate the EPA which will drive more business off shore or out of business. Putting in new standards that will have every village and business with a new very expensive air, water and sewer plan. New standards for your cars that will reduce mileage and increase cost. All things like dirt bikes ATVs boats etc are already under strain and they will be in the target.

Guns…. You like them.. Not for long. They will put through a new Assault weapons ban who’s wording seems to cover all semi-automatic weapons. Please report to your local commissar and turn in your weapons..subjects…

Well I am getting tired and so are you there are more horrors to come so I will finish with the following thoughts.

Except for Sex for some reason the Democrats are the party of FEDERAL CONTROL. They have the philosophy that they always know better then you, especially you white males. Things, like we like to do, are always right in their sights…

Last and most horrific of all

THE HILLARY

Hand the ultraliberals a big victory this year will guarantee a well financed campaign for the Hillary. The socialist neo communist country that would emerge form a liberal congress and a Hillary president will have your children starving in the streets dodging Muslim missiles.

I'm with richw. And, for many of the same reasons. I'm not a Bush fan, but this is another case of having to choose between the lesser of two evils. I, for one, wish we had a realistic third choice but we don't. So, despite the complaints about Bush (many from me), I think Republicans have a better handle than the Dems. Yes, it sucks either way, but the Dems really scare me.

Sending out pamphlets on how to seduce young boys is free speech.. I think our society has come to and is about to cross a fine line as to what is free speech and what is going to be the end of traditional values in America..

They probably wouldn't be so extreme if they didn't get the "national moral standards syndrome" shoved down their throat.

A vote for a libertarian is one less vote against the current administration. Show me a realistic chance to not have a dem or rep in office and I'll show you a vote. Until then, as much as I hate to say it, it's a vote thrown away.

Iglu, I'm with you on voting for a Libertarian. I am all for the Libertine form of government. However, we don't have a candidate who can be taken seriously, or get the recognition required to make a realistic shot at, virtually, any public office. That's the only way anything in government is going to change. There has to be a viable third party with some representation. Too many politicians think they're untouchable. Term limits need to be imposed.

I do believe that Republicans listen a bit closer to the majority than do the Democrats. So, that's why I'll vote Republican.

it's your attitude that keeps this country 2 party

start out by voting for libertarians locally, if there are none to vote for, run youself and get elected to a local office

a vote for someone you don't really want, but is the lesser of the 2 party evil system is a vote given away, I'd rather throw a vote away than give it to someone I don't really want

seems like it's more important to have the satisfaction of voting for someone who wins rathers than someone who supports your views

It's more to prevent a win for the person you oppose.

We have lots of Independants in VT.

Even better, vote for the candidate who most aligns with your own way of thinking and let the politics sort themselves out.

I have historically voted democrat as they were the party that most aligned with my own views, but I'd vote for John McCain if he ever ran for president because what he says most agrees with what I believe. It's just that simple.

If you don't like what your politician does then write at the time. You don't have to cut off your nose to spite your face.

Virtually all politicians are egoists who's Mama convinced were better then you.
They view voting as some sort of unfair ridiculous step that is forced upon them. They are convinced that its there job into fooling the majority to back them ot at least fear the opponent more.

If you are actively haranguing them once they are in office you can move them a little toward the most apparent popular side.



PS I work for a living and don't have time to listen to Rush Limbaugh. He has become a great pompous drug taking hypocrite.
