Bush get's a smack down today...

Ok, Based on today's news, someone has to start this thread, so I might as well do it.

http://tinyurl.com/yz278k

Along with the confirmation hearing of Rober Gates yesterday, if looks like the feds are now starting to acknowledge what the "liberal wingbuts" have been saying since day one.

We are less safe than we have ever been, we have made MORE people hate us, and how many innocednt people are dead? And dont even try to blame this on "liberals". The conservative party had charge of the White House, Congress, the Armed Forces, and the pentagon.

That to make us safer is the lamest thing. People who think we are have a screw lose IMO.
We must look so stupid.

Don't worry, there will be people that still will think like so many did at the start of the war. Even with this bipartisan government commissioned panel, some people will still keep up with the cowboy macho pride mentality. It's not that cut and dry, there is no "just go in, get the job done!!" solution.

Unfortunately it's not a situation we can really fix now. There is no warm fuzzy feeling in saying "We said so all along" since it can't be remedied. We can't distance ourselves from the shitstorm we got ourselves into.

A piece of humble pie and some thinking may be the best start.

This is one "I told ya so" that doesn't feel that great.

But have no fear, Bush is *staying the course*!

Not Bush himself mind you, or anyone in his family, but lots of those volunteer military types that keep getting killed every day.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. I hope, that as a nation, people are stating to do just that.

Well you got the editorialized version.

They did say the Iraq War is winnable and must be won.

Unfortunately part of the solution is to rely on Syria and Iran
They said that with a straight face

The Iraq thing is a giant F*up but because we underestimated how F*d up the crazy Sand Monkeys are. Surprising that they a neighborhood allegiance like inner city gangs. It turned out we let loose the bloods and the crypts

My crack pot idea is something I call flash flood.

Assemble an overwhelming strike force like 50,000 in sort of secret. Come at a rebel neighborhood Sadir City from all sides. Destroy anything with tank fire that put up resistance. Hold every citizen strip searched in an area. Search every home for weapons If weapons are found the building is leveled.

Then leave immediately and return to a relative safe area.

Do it again the next hot bed area. Probably Suni triangle.

Return to a relative safe area and watch and wait. Even if nothing dramatic happens after a month or so do it again toward the 3rd most likely target.

We get killed when we go out into the population. So don't do that except in overwhelming force. Force the bad guys to fight you on their turf on your time. Let Joe Iraqi know that having rebel neighbors will bring down destruction on their heads.

When and if things calm down then don't pull out but declare such and such area to be no longer under USA protection and patrol. Eventually I would love to see us with a sizable base near the oil fields and Iran border and out of Bagdad etc.

And the insurgents put down/hide their weapons, are strip searched, let go, and move on to their next targets. Just like what's happening now.

You might of. Some of us didn't and expected this all along. But we're crazy leftist communists who don't make any sense.

I disagree.....i think this is the begining of us pulling out..

All you Dems need to talk to your buddies about getting it done...they ran the election on it and won...time to act...

....while they are at it, maybe it's time for them to start the impeachment process...

too bad they are too gutless to actually follow through...

Over the decades all our enemies have pretty much come around. Germany , Japan. Now even most ex commie countries have seen the light. It is not without precedence to have believed that the Iraqis would have embraced their freedom.

Water under the bridge at this point.

Now the Dems have to govern and even though the media is their cheerleader they will turn on them if there is a blood bath upon our leaving.

Now if the Clinton's still have control they should time a Democratic forced withdrawal a month before the 08 elections or at least have 1/2 the troops coming home to many heart warming photo ops. Hillary gets elected and before inauguration there is total civil war. I hope they are building a Helipad on the top of the embassy. During the chaos of Iraq total war and the invasion by Iranian peace keepers the Dems will raise your taxes 20%. Then by 2012 we would have forgotten the 1.5 million dead Iraqis and gotten used to the high tax and recession. Jimmy Carter if still alive will ask for Iran to be on the security council and Mahmoud Achmedenijad (sp..who cares) to get the Nobel Peace Prize

I find it quite amazing the scenarios you keep coming up with.

I also find it interesting that you started creating topics of scare tactics and badmouthing right about when the country realized things were not as the people in charge would like to have us believe.

I'm going to save my doomsday scenerio and worst case estimations for the situations we have at hand, something the administration should have done 6 years ago.

Hey boys the new Congress has not even started yet!
At least let them decorate their new offices before you start whining that they have not done anything. I know, your just warming up the retoric for the big election in '08.

It took GW to get us this far in the shitter, it might take a day or two to get us out.

It's pretty much like celery. Eating most anything else will have more nutritional value.
