If he's 1/2 of what he's touted to be, it'll be well worth it. In today's market of starting pitchers, $8-1/2 million/year could be a steal...

Supposedly, a coupla years ago, the dude pitched a 200 pitch complete game one day, closed a game the next day, and two days after THAT pitched a complete game no hitter...

On the other hand, that's a big commitment for someone who's never pitched in the MLB. Basing that kinda contract on what he MAY be is very risky indeed...
