POLAR BEARS OF DOOM

Well I am here again.

When if they put Polar Bears on the endangered list because of Alleged Global Warming...

US Government will be obliged to curtail ALL activities that contribute to global warming

Activities like driving, electric appliances, heating your home, and your job. Trivial crap like that.

The Irony is

Jobs and industries will move to China and they use dirty coal less efficiently then we do so there will be a net increase in CO2 emissions for the world ( I have been there).

Coal supplies more then 1/2 your electricity and switching to oil or gas is more then twice as expensive. The same individuals that are Global Warming Soothsayers are also anti nuclear the only practical alternative.

Well maybe they are right after the effects of Chicken Little Global Warming takes hold there will be a world wide recession and the reduced human activity might lower Green house gases.

Yeh Yeh you will say I know nothing but in my lifetime I have seen them report that we are heading for an ice age and then a few years later by 2000 the world temp will be up 5 degrees and NYC will be under 10 feet of water. Are your feet wet? Well if you are directly or indirectly employed by an energy based industry then your future is about to be dimmed.

Oh and there are still 22 to 25000 polar bears your future is being sacrificed for.

We will rule the world...We're China right?

POLAR BEARS OF DOOM

Whatever we do, I refuse to allow windmills and coastal tide generation stations to ruin my vacationland! They are DISGUSTING!

Rich, you make it out like it's a black/white scenario. It isn't that way at all. There is more than enough energy in the world for a REASONABLE population to live comfortably. What's killing us is that our society is used to the disposable economics that we've grown up with. Waste, waste, waste. What's more important, a new hot tub for your house or decent windows and insulation along with an efficient heating system?

Yes, China is a developing country but once they are industrialized they will be faced with the same dillemma as we are soon to be facing:

Either starting living smarter and accept change or go on living like we deserve whatever we want to waste and suffer in the end.

POLAR BEARS OF DOOM

I believe this is an end run by the global warming lobby definitely knowing the consequences to the USA economy.

I am honestly suspicious of Global Warming Alarmists, and to take a wack like this at the economy based upon the postulations of a few individuals. There are countless times where the great learned men of Universities were all just absolutely wrong.

I suggest a commission that funds at least both camps. One that thinks the evidence is green house gases etc. and an equally funded and talented group that looks at the evidence and seeks other explanations. Not a white wash on either side.

If I were a researcher at a left leaning University and wanted a grant I know I would apply that Global Warming and the Green House cliff were just around the corner.

A few of the DOGMA rules from the 70's have been dis proven examples of NO2 smog and acid rain. But the law does not get changed back, just USA citizens spending more for energy indefinitely.

I also believe that if you look deep enough into the Global Warming business there are people who do not wish the USA well.

What would the average American say if you told him/her that putting the Polar Bear on the endangered list will at least double his electric bill. Where is the media on the results of the listing ?

All I want is real knowledge and predictions of this even if it takes 20 years to prove, before we gut the US economy and world wide millions of humans suffer.

The worldwide suffering is going to be way worse if we do nothing. Switching to different energy delivery solutions and/or conserving energy are not going to be anywhere near as painful as the proposed problems Global warming is/will cause.

Polar bears are fucked.

What part of "There is no ice left at the north pole" do you not understand? We're not there yet but we're approaching it.

There is already serious discussion about who is going to control the Northern passage through the Arctic Sea, as it's going to be economically advantageous for shipping.. no need to travel to the Panama Canal anymore.

I just don't think there is any way we will save the Polar bears.. it would take way too drastic of an effort to reverse the warming. They will either travel south and eat something else or they'll die.

Even if everyone turned total tree-hugging hippie tomorrow I bet it's too late.

Greenland used to be green land somewhat able to support an agricultural community. So it had large open grasslands about 1000 AD. Now its frozen but the polar bears survived that.

I just want the science to be well funded science. I am convinced that up till now everyone approached this with the preconceived notion and then went on to prove it.

If we really have to live a less abundant life well OK but please let it be a result of pursuing the whole truth

The chicken little story is good to teach you the cost of panic.

So who wants to start a roof top solar hot water company ?

I didn't realize that global warming only consisted of everywhere being the exact same other than a few degrees warmer. Silly me thinking that it affected weather patterns and different climates differently. Like warmer air introducing more moisture into climates significantly colder than freezing which causes more snow than before global warming.

Everything is a big lie! Paranoia is real! What is the Matrix?!

I really don't know where your universal distrust of everything came from Rich, but no matter what, you should probably think that the people who are passionate about keeping our earth clean (the tree huggers) probably are the best ones to listen to.

POLAR BEARS OF DOOM

From NPR article

"Let's say the federal government was going to issue permits for coal-fired power plants in the Midwest, which are major sources of carbon and global warming gases being emitted to the atmosphere," says Wetzler. "Because those power plants require federal permits and because those emissions are a direct cause of the polar bear's decline, that power plant permit is now subject to the endangered species act in a way that it was not before."

I don't know if these guys are right or wrong but their crap seems every bit as convincing as the Alarmists
