Presidential approval ratings

Bill Clinton's highest disapproval rating was 54% in September 1994. In fact, several polls that year found at least 50% of Americans disapproving of Clinton's performance as president.
In the summer of his re-election bid, 60% of Americans told Gallup they disapproved of the way George H.W. Bush was handling the presidency. Across the 14 polls conducted from May 1992 through October 1992, a majority of Americans expressed disapproval in Bush.
In January 1983, 56% of Americans said they disapproved of Ronald Reagan. Five polls conducted from December 1982 through February 1983 found at least 50% of Americans disapproving of Reagan.
Many of the polls conducted in 1979 and 1980 found majority disapproval of Jimmy Carter's performance. His highest disapproval was 59% in June and July 1979.
Just prior to his resignation as president, 66% of Americans said they disapproved of the way Richard Nixon was handling the presidency.
In March 1968, Gallup found that 52% of Americans disapproved of Lyndon B. Johnson. Johnson's disapproval ratings were at 50% or higher only four times in his presidency.
Harry Truman scored the highest disapproval rating in Gallup's history -- 67% -- in January 1952. Truman also scored the lowest approval rating in Gallup's history, 23%, in the same poll.

So I'm guessing the point is that our current president is about to break into the teens for an approval rating, will he be the all time worst?

Guys don't judge him too early.

There is still time for he and Cheney to invade Iran. Maybe after he invades Iran we'll all change our minds and love him.

We got all our carriers there all we need is some nutjob to fire an AK at one of them or go Kamikaze.. that'll be enough and we'll start the bombing.

Anybody who bases decision on fact & reason will be a massive improvement.

As long as Hillary's presidency wasn't based on invasions without reason she'd be better. (Not that I think she's the best candidate)

when clinton was in office people were saying he was the worst president too...W's first term wasnt bad. He turned the economy around....jobless rates are at an all time low... Started going down will ever since his "mission accomplished" stunt....and kept going from their into the mess we have now.

it's funny the short term memory...or just plain lack of knowledge about Hillary

A vote for Hillary is a vote for Karl Marx with the ethics standards of Ken Lay.....

Do we have to go over this again?

Let's recall the facts as we knew them in March 2003. U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Saddam possessed chemical and biological weapons and might be pursuing a nuclear weapons program. Most European intelligence services agreed that Saddam had active WMD programs. Even Hans Blix and his U.N. inspectors, often critics of U.S. positions, acknowledged that Baghdad may have been concealing weapons of mass destruction. If Saddam had secretly destroyed the weapons he was believed to possess, he had numerous opportunities to document this destruction and announce it to the world. But he did not do so.
At the same time, the world was painfully familiar with Saddam's use of WMD in the past, including his chemical attacks on Iranians and Kurds. We knew that Saddam was by far the most belligerent leader in the region, having invaded and pillaged Kuwait, launched missiles at Saudi Arabia and Israel, killed hundreds of thousands of his own people, and attempted to assassinate a former American president. We also knew of Saddam's past involvement in terrorism and his hatred of America. And we knew that, even if Saddam's WMD programs were destroyed, he planned to restart them once the time was right--presumably, once sanctions had fallen apart, he had his hands on billions of dollars in oil revenue, and international attention was again distracted. This was the situation in early 2003: The threat was grave and gathering.

From U.S. Senator John McCain

The secret was that Saddam had figured the fear of the existence of WMD's was better then actually having them.

He had a real interest in keeping both Iran and the USA at bay.

In the end it did not work but it was a good idea
