I don't think Imus is a racist. I think that he made a mistake and a bad decision. The guy is definitely being made an example of. He messed up but I still think he's a decent person.

No, I don't. I think that Mel Gibson and Michael Richards said those things to hurt people and it was done intentionally. Imus did not say those things to hurt anyone on purpose. I am NOT saying that what he did is right. He should be punished for what he said. I just don't think that it is as severe.

The guy has always had a superior air about him. I find it hard to believe he does not feel superior to other races.

That said, I don't care. He's still not very entertaining either way. I don't listen to him unless I'm with someone else who does.

I listen to him to in the morning. It took me some time to get used to him. Being arrogant doesn't make someone a racist. He might be an asshole but that is another category altogether

If he called them a team of stupid bitches, he'd be sexist. If he called them most ANYTHING that actually had some animosity in it, he'd be labelled as something.

Calling them a team of the N word would be different, this is just him insulting them.

No, have to admit I did not. I heard some of what Al Sharpton said to him last night though. If he wasn't a racist before, probably is now... What a dick Sharpton is.

Please bear in mind, I do not think what is being done in response to his remarks is good. I think the folks that are freaking out over the comments are idiots, and more racist than he is. Just because I think he's a racist, does not mean I care that he's a racist. It does not affect my opinion of him at all.

ya sharpton is another issue all together...he has said much worse things abotu white people and jews. I still have no idea what he does...or has done that has actually been productive. And who pays for those $6k suits....and when did he get a radio show....and why isnt he on in NY? lol imo he does more damage to the image of black people in this country then anything else. Thinking he is an arrogant dick is different then thinking he is a racist. It is fair to say he makes racist comments from time to time...but he is even across the boards... He called a guest on his show a boner faced beanie wearing jew boy....he doesnt single any particualr race out.

IMO he is a real person and talks like most people do...he has for 35 years which has landed him in the hot seat b4.

He also does a lot for a lot of causes that would not get any publicity if it wasn't for him....his ranch for children with cancer(which is racially balanced), autism, SID's, benefits for our troops/veteran's. He raises tens of millions of dollars every year for these causes.

I also think his show is one of the only places you can hear politicians speak like real people and is very balanced as far as POV's.

I'm not making excuses for him, I just think this should be put into perspective. The comment he made was a secondary "off the cuff" comment with an attempt to be funny. There was no venom in his comments. He was commenting as to how tough looking they were compared to Tenn.

I beleive he messed up and blurted something out. He has admitted he was wrong and made a REAL apology and has accepted responsibility of his actions and intends to change the tone of his show. Shouldn't that be enough?

Do you guys who voted yes really beleive this comment should end his radio show that serves as a platform that a lot of good things come out of?

I think everyone has prejudices and beleive in certain stereotypes becuase they are not familiar with different races and cultures. But i think that is different then being a racist..

I don't think he should of apoligized at all. It's an insult or mockery. He's entitled to it. Doesn't make him someone that should have their own opinion driven show that people listen to for that very reason.

Now if he did a Michael Richards....that would be another story. That was WAY off base.
