National healthcare reduces the quality of healthcare for those of us who can afford to pay for it, or those who are gainfully employed and have healthcare plans through employment.

Agreed. Social security needs serious work, our welfare system is paying out WAY TOO MUCH MONEY, and our immigration system is a shambles; we let way too many people in. I did not say that our system was perfect I simply said that the United States is a far better place to live than anywhere else, and I will do whatever I can to protect my comfortable way of life. I too agree it is a great place to live. But I feel it is arrogant to say that it is the best. It is very closed minded to assume something is not good because it is different. There are so many diverse places in this world that also have much to offer. I would not hesitate to take up employment in many european countries. It is also typical for many people to say that no other place is as good when they have nothing to base that on. How many people that boast america is the best have spent time in foriegn countries, and not as a US soldier fighting. It's one thing to be proud to be an american, but I don't support being arrogent. Too me, it's the same lines as saying I'm white so I'm the best race.

I don't feel that life in other countries is not good. I just think that our way of life is better. Personally I would love to live in the South of France, and there are tons of people here (in the US) who hate the French!

Baseball is a sport. It's played for fun. It doesn't matter to me or my would be child if he isn't the best at it but enjoys playing regardless. One person can be the 'best' on the team. If the child wants to get better I'd encourage him to set goals and work to achieve them, but not loose sight of the primary goal of enjoying himself. I'm not seeing the anaology here. Are you saying in order for the redsox to be the best baseball team everyone from boston has to tell the rest of the country that their baseball teams suck and we have to hate players that leave the redsox to play for another team?
