Current strategy except cede the most dangerous places to the enemy with a limited withdrawal.

Withdraw but leave a few bases near oil fields facing the Iranian. No patrols of civilian areas just hunker down and prevent invasion... sort of like Gitmo or Korea. (lillypad)

Get the F out of there and take the oil hit, Iranian puppet government along with the mass Sunni genocides.

My real opinion is to take a secret poll of the troops with like an series of options and let them pick a primary and secondary. They know the most and its their ass on the line.

We're already there, and we instigated the beginnings of a civil war. My opinion is that since we fucked it up, we should stay and help fix the problem. This means the soldiers should get their hands un-tied, and get to do whatever is necessary to knock the insurgents out.

Before doing anything now there is such a long mental check list you have to go through to make sure in the end you dont get screwed for your actions....A lot of soldiers die for not taking actions fast enough. When I first got to Iraq I was all about making a difference and quickly I learned that as soon as we get out of here its just going to go back to the way it was....Its all for nothing IMO

I do think you Guys and Gals have done some good for sure. Whether or not it descends into chaos or not, does not diminish the effort so far.

It is always noble to try to help and free somebody. If they can not take it the next step then it is their failure not the helper.

Not to wax poetic too far that area has had civilization 4000 years before Europe etc. and did not make much out of it. Christians and elitist never seem to grasp the simple thought
