THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPIts not nice but other then in the overedumakated East the rest of the USA is not ready for a black or maybe even a women President. I will donate plus against the Democrats because I really don't like their totalitarian policies. I think in the privacy of the voting booth the average voter won't pull that lever. If the Republicans put up any reasonable charismatic white guy he is a shoe in. The Dean Democrats won't be able to figure it out. I hope to enjoy the media pundits trying to say it without saying it. |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPDon't be a dickbag, I just dont feel like writing any big novel posts. ![]() He was a civil rights attorney, which I always admire. As a Senator he worked for the Veterans' Affairs Committee, and he created a state law in Illinois requiring confessions and interrogations to be videotaped in all capital murder cases. He was also a man who came from modest beginnings, and put himself through college and later law school. So calling him an "empty suit" is......well, its a complete and utter load of ![]() |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPI agree he's not an empty suit...he's got my respect and he can have a normal conversation. He's a regular person and knows what its like to actually be middle class..unlike the Clintons or Bush or the other ritzy families out there. He made a life for himself. I respect that he was able to make it through Harvard law coming from where he did. I tried to make it through Yale. I was out of place..I couldn't do it. I'm not overeducated, don't think that for a second. I don't have a college degree, I work for a shitty little company in the middle of nowhere..but I know when people have the welfare of people ahead of their own gains. Yes he's green but I think a fresh face is what we need. People need to take a step back and look at who we are, what we're doing and what we stand for. Somewhere along the way, the help your neighbor mentality got lost. Do any of you think for a second its ok to let children go with out medical care? Or to allow our seniors to be ass raped for simple medications that they need? Have you had a friend/relative killed in Iraq over oil? How about our education system? Why are schools being dumbed down? Why are the chinese schools kicking our asses? I am not white, I'm a minority woman and I come from a very very humble family. I worked my ass off to get to Yale and when I got there, I realized I didn't fit in with those kids. Kids whose families had tons of money and whined that their parents ONLY gave them 50k a year to play with. The kids that would grow up and hold important positions and make a ton of money and ultimately forget that when you have power its your responsibility that EVERYONE at least has their basic needs met. Right now I don't feel that we are doing that. I have very little hope that our diverse nation can be led into the light no matter who gets elected. Our societal values are vastly different than those I was raised with. |

Can you blame them? I can't. Remember, everyone's kids are "special", there are no "stupid" kids, everyone is just "different" and entitled to be a brat that demands everything out of teachers who have their hands tied. Teachers are being forced to parent without being allowed to parent. You guys complain about the troops not getting the job done because of restrictions, try being a public school teacher. At least the troops know if they have a job ever year. |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPA hospital can't refuse care...you think the solution is to send all the kids without insurance to an emergency room? ER's are already overcrowded and parents either bring their kids there when they really don't need to be, or they wait until they're really really sick. Schools are dumbed down because we let them be. Schools aren't one of our top priorities. Cut funding here, ignore this and that...but spend trillions on Iraq? No thank you. I'm not misinformed. I know there's more to it than that. I'm not stupid. I work for a company with a DOD contract. I take what I do very seriously because peoples lives are dependent on some of our products. And I know that historically speaking wars help end recessions..however, this one hasn't. Someone is making money and its not the American people. Help the Iraqis? Yes but we need to help our own people too.. |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPNo, I don't think over crowding ER's is a good thing,it takes aways from a person with a serious emergency injury Vs. taking care of a child with a simple ear infection.. I guess you worded it wrong, I think maybe what your trying to say is "Children with out health insurance is a bad thing" I agree.. Most of these problems can be solved at the root, which is people practicing some responsiblility and not having children they can't afford, Use some birth control or just keep your pants on.. I have three children which is my Financial limit so I am taking steps to keep it that way.. Parents who pay a little more attention to thier children and what they are doing would go a long way to helping the economy, and preventing kids from having kids that they can't afford, and that end up being taken care of by the system that is funded by our tax dollars... Children that are born to people that lack the $$ and maturity to take care of them contribute to the root of many of the problems in this counrty... |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPWhen I was born my parents lived with my grandparents. My father is a farmer and my mom didn't work. They didn't have much but I always had food to eat and clothes to wear. I was born with a heart defect that required surgery. My parents didn't have the money for that and fell on Medicaid to help. They were paying on bills that medicaid didn't cover until I was 12. Would it have been appropriate to let me die considering I wasn't your child and your tax dollars paid for that? I'm not bitter, i was raised with my traditional native american values that say you take care of everyone like they are family..even if you don't particularly care for them. You do it because its the right thing to do. If your child were hurt or got cancer today and you couldn't pay for the treatments..I'd step up and help you because its the right thing to do..even though I don't particularly care for you. It amazes me that people have opinions like yours bigred...I'm sticking to my original comment..deep down I think you're a fucking moron.. |

THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UP sorta...but thats the theme of the ultra liberal. You have way too much money, the government needs it and knows how to spend it better then you can.... there are people that deserve your money more then you so we are taking it. THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UP i grew up on welfare and made myself into what i am today by myself...you are preaching to the choir. Gov't programs should have limits. I grew up on medicaid as well. My mother had all sorts of Jerry Springer shit going on and since then, used the system to graduate college and is now gainfully employed tax paying american. She used the system as intended..as a tool to better herself. Of course i beleive in these systems, but i despise the abuses...the welfare generations... that is much different story then socialism....gov't funded health care. All of you idealists forget that the governement screws up everything they touch...education, social security...etc etc etc and all you want to do is give them more money and power like that is the answer....WRONG, it doesn't. never has...never will. THE 'BUMPER STICKER' THAT BLOWS UPI don't think that at all...and I'm not ultra liberal..I just come off that way because I'm liberal about certain things. The government has a lot of money..they just spend it stupidly...It needs to be audited completely and by like people who are fucking cheap. There are places to cut corners and places you shouldn't. Education, health care, and soldiers body armor shouldn't be short changed... |
