I am a liberatarian

I frankly am a Libertarian and believe that the government who does the least does the best. The Government job is to cooperatively protect us from enemies from without and within. The public of the Republic has the power it lends to the government to perform the above acts. Therefore any act where the Government restricts the actions of individuals etc should be viewed with great suspicion.

I am for abortion rights government does not belong in anyones belly.
I bless the 2nd amendment and my right to protect my family and property
This is a Christian country that accepts others to be religious however they please. A Christmas tree on the town green should make you smile.
Offense and hurt are a universal concept and not in the eyes of the alleged victim.
USA military sallies forth to protect our way of life both lives and property and its freedom. Millions will die if there is vast economic up heavels caused by others. Financial attacks in a modern era are the same as physical attacks... people die.
Taxes should not be collected for the purpose of giving it to others.

My Liberal perception is that they believe there is always some expert that knows better. They naively think that the expert has no personal interest which is always bullshit. They were programed initially by the KGB to adjust their attitudes in the hopes of weakening the USA on their way to world domination. No one would guess that though the head of that snake would die its mutant spawn would flourish here.

Libs for abortion rights to help weaken our family values.

Anti-gun so that when the red army came there would be less resistance

Anti religious so we question what is right and wrong and do not think we should save the rest of the world from communism and of course to a commie the state is the religion and the ultimate authority.

USA military should be weakened so our conquest would be easier..the enemy

Taxes should be 100 percent so you have to look to the state for everything.

etc.

The America that saved the world 3 times still exists and will. We suffered and conquered evil before and will again. Lock and load people there are ACLU lawyers, college professors, and journalists that we should help meet God.

I''ve been a Libertarian since Ed Clark ran for president, and I am one of several thousand registered libertarians that holds a local public position

I think most peeps on this board are libertarians, they just don't know it yet

I don't need to look to a book, an old man in a church who abuses children or a vatican covered in gold that preaches giving to the poor to know the difference between right and wrong. I really do feel sorry for you if you would feel lost without parental guidance in the biblical sense.

A true libertarian is free from religious boundaries, constraints and guidelines. Think for yourself for a change.

Ironic how you are challenging people to think for themselves when you yourself aren't.

BTW, this is also a country founded on slavery. Just because they did it a certain way back in the day doesn't mean it's right today.

Other than the religious rhetoric, I agree.

A government based on religion is always larger than a government that isn't. If you really want the least government possible, you can't see it any other way.

clay, freedom of religion is not freedom from religion. while this is a christian nation it is not a religious state. The radical faction of christianity does not run this country, and religion and faith are not dirty words.

I agree. (freedom of vs freedom from)

But.... for sake of discussion.....

I am wondering how someone can call themselves libertarian when they endorse government being any more involved than necessary. A true libertarian wants the government to have the least amount of influence over the people possible. Show me a religion that endorses personal freedoms over denominational beliefs, a religion that encourages individual thought over guided group thought, a religion that is open to new ideas, opinions and ways of life, a religion that is inclusion based and does not have expansion as a main priority. Show me that religion and I'll sign up.

The real tenet of Christianity

Treat everyone as you would want to be treated
Get a go to heaven card

All the rest is of human origin good or bad

"God hates fags"

?

I really think Christianity is pretty close to an all around positive religion but they just have a few things that are demonstrating their dark ages mentality.

human nature...no one fits perfectly into one category....you add up the pros and cons and align yourself accordingly. At times you sacrifice certain personal beleifs for the greater good...

right...and it is one of the things i am speaking of.

Christians don't say "God hates fags" but certain aspects of it can be translated that way. It is the other way around as well...it's all in your understanding. Unfortunately, I feel, the people in charge of organized religion add in their own beleifs or prejudices and teach their twisted understanding...whether intentional or not.... so some christians teach fags are bad and some muslims teach to kill infidels. It is worth noting that there are plenty of happy christians are and tolerate homosexuals and there are muslims that do not want to kill the infidels...

In those aspects i agree with you on the bad stuff about religion, but i look at that as organized religion....the average church and church go'er is not like that....

I personally do not go to chruch nor am i very religous but local churches and religous organizions so a lot of good for a lot of people......you can't take that away from them because their Executive officers screw up... I am not only talking about food drives and other charitable events....i refer to the whole right and wrong thing. YOU may not need someone in a fancy robe with an old book telling you what is right and what is wrong.....but some people DO.... I feel if a lot of people in this country did have the fear of god in them, they would not do a lot of the things they do. When you get "brainwashed" as a kid that god is always watching....that transcends into adulthood....

And you now have stumbled upon the reason we will never have a libertarian society. Sucks but it's true.

Anytime you have a state sponsored religion, the wackos in it are tolerated more than the non-state sponsored denominations. Taliban, Iran, Syria, etc. Also, there is far more super-conservatives in power than super-liberals. Look at the south.

I'd like to consider myself a libertarian too. My political beliefs can be summed up as "I'd like to be able to smoke a joint, while cleaning my rifle".

But to be frank, all I want is for people to be held accountable for their own actions, and to do away with laws that protect me from myself. So far, I've yet to see a political party or entity supporting that.
