Odd and racially prejudice. He's the most openly racially prejudice politician, or WHATEVER it is you call him, that I can think of off the top of my head right now. Obviously there's more, but he's gotta be in the top 10. It's like he's trying to get as close to being a racist as he can w/o actually being racist.

I don't think the story here is Jackson stupidly criticizing Obama.

Obama has already lost the black vote apparently.. black voters are strongly supporting Hillary Clinton, apparently over this stupid "Not Black Enough" issue. (I don't think I'd vote for him either, at least in a primary.. but it has nothing to do with his skin color)

What is stupid here is that people are protesting down in Jena over this attempted murder case.

I'm not sure how you compare this to Civil Rights. The kids got caught beating someone severely.

It was wrong for people to get away with murdering blacks in the South in the 60s... but on what planet does that mean it's OK for black people to start their own Lynch Mobs almost 50 years later? These kids are supposed to get a get out of jail free card because they're oppressed?

I think you are over simplifying it. I think what they are saying is 20+ years for jumping someone is a little harsh. Attempted murder might be a bit over the top too.

I have no respect or use for jesse jackson, he falls into the same catagory as other usless people who cause problems just to get in the limelite. I agree that they may be trying to make an example out of them kids but thay did beat someone and if you have 6 against 1 then that could easlie turn into murder, they do need to be punished for there actions, if jesse gets his way they will walk free and the victim gets no justice, take the color factor out and you still have 6 to 1, i say time to pay for your actions.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do more to promote racism than anything they try to do. Some of the things they do and say just makes people think the exact opposite of what they want, which may turn into a racist view. I think they're the worst things to happen to race relations in this country. My favorite Jesse Jackson story is when those 7 police officers were accused of shooting a black man on some bridge following Katrina. Of course, Jackson comes out that it was a racist incident, except, 4 out of the 7 accused police officers was black. He obviously just threw out the race card because it would bring him more attention.

Taking race completely out of the question, how would you all expect a jury to look at a 6 on 1 beating? That is attempted murder, whether intentional or not. It also is aggravated assault (I think) when the ratio is that extreme.

Unfortunately, there are some who have to play the race card every chance they get. And unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) it is always the same few people that do it. Maybe it's because there is a double-standard now that makes a black person raising the race issue inquisitive, and a white person doing it racist. It's racist either way. It's like publicly bashing people who are overweight. Our culture makes it an acceptable discrimination.
