then the doctor is the one committing the crime, not the ball player

Re: Clemens hearings

what i find entertaining is NY newspapers put an * next to the Pats all season because of the "cheating" at the beginning of the season, but with all these NYY players popping up with the steroid issues...how many NYY seasons/championships will we have to put a * next to?

Specter is particularly concerned about how the taping might have affected New England's games involving teams from his home state in the 2004 postseason.

Can someone say, fishing for votes and support in his home state? Once again, he just wants publicity.
The ONLY good thing to come from the Patriots' loss was that the momentum/publicity appeal of a Spygate scandal quickly fell away.

"The only guy to wake up after the Superbowl more disappointed than the Patriots was Arlen Spector."

I had heard of Arlen Spector before though, but for other similar, attention-whoring reasons.

Spygate is diferent no federal law was broekn. THe nfl has a right to govern its own league with its on laws, as long as it isnt letting anyone violate federal laws. Baseball knew steroids were runing wild and the government wants to find out why selgi and MLB allowed this to happen under the watch. ITs like being a witness to a crime, if you dont come forward you are viewed as in accomplis
where your facts are correct, i doubt that is the reason why they are involved. out of the millions of people in this country what percentage do you think uses steroids? lets see, a handful of athletes, body builders, etc. whats that like .1% of this country? pretty sure we got bigger problems then roids. it amazes me everytime i see this shit on tv. here we are fighting some war overseas, our economy sucks, shits all fucked up and congress is interviewing old ball players? jesus i wish i could see where my taxes go, oh wait.....

ok i'll go with that...the players used illegal drugs...fine...its bad....great...they should be punished...sure....i'm with you..

let's say they are guilty of all teh worst offenses they are accused of.....so f'ing what?

do we need congress butting their heads in on this? is this the real drug problem in this country? are these doctors having turf wars making some areas in the country in habitable and are innocent people dying as a result of this "black market" trade?

i mean seriously...if the put 1/2 the effort they are putting into this and focused on our immigration policies they may actually be able to get something done

Re: Clemens hearings

Oh dont get me wrong I see no need for congress to be involved. Im simply pointing out why it at least makes some sense vs congress looking into the patriots taping games. At least with the sterioid issues there were federal laws broken. IM pretty sure its not against the law to videotape. Either way congress does have much more to worry about, and I dont get it at all. If anything Baseball should be doing their own hearings and their own investigating. Ofcourse had congress not gotten invoved we would have the mithcell report or people like mcNamee ratting on everyone.
