The USKKK of A. What a nutbag. The people who listen to and believe in his diatribe aren't the brightest bulbs either.

I'm surprised it took so long for Obama's association with him to surface.

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

First President of The Black Americans

First Black American President

Duh ?

He really thought that the media would quash this. Like when his wife said by corollary that she was never proud of America. (note free ride at 2 of America's finest university didn't do it for her). The NY Times did the torpedo on Mc Cain possible associations to get Ma Obama of the front page.

I guess the NY Times didn't have a 2nd dirty trick to pull out of their files.

I want change...... 3 quarters and a dime would be nice

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

While Obama's thought's about Rev. Wright are interesting

Quote:
Obama says that rather than advising him on strategy, Wright helps keep his priorities straight and his moral compass calibrated.

"What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice," Obama said. "He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics."
Never mind the fact he's gone to that church for 20 years, Wright married him and his wife...baptized his kids, gave him the title for his book......but what is really REALLY troubling to me is, how many people in this country agree with him? I'm not going to post them cuz we've all seen them...but have you heard the people cheering in the back ground of those sermons?

No matter what Obama says to try and cover his tracks we know how he and his wife feel
Quote:
“For the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country,” she told a Milwaukee crowd today, “because it feels like hope is making a comeback.”

Once again, another example of how religious figures seem to think they matter in the least bit to how the world functions.

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

here's an interesting read.

Anderson Cooper 360: Blog Archive - White men and the Obama campaign « - Blogs from CNN.com

from articles and comments.

change change change... haha

"When I asked him what it will take for Obama to win the working class white man’s vote here, he said, “He’s gotta come out and talk to us and tell us what he wants to do with the economy. I don’t know if he said anything. All I hear is, change, change, what type of change does he got for us? I don’t know. Is he gonna tell us he wants more construction jobs.”

Wully Bully March 18th, 2008 1:11 pm ET

I was in favor of Obama until I heard his pastor.
I will never vote for a racist for President. Obama and all his church are nothing but racist.
If my church put out a sign which read “unashamedly White” would that seem racist to anyone?
I won’t vote for hate.
The END

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

i see nobody wants to talk about this stuff. lets see if i get this right. so basically this is what sen. Obama said. racist is real.. rev. Wright gave racist sermon because of anger over slavery so don't condemn without understanding. sen. Obama strongly disagree but he's a family so lets just move on.

edit: i think there's more to this than just that clip but i think he's right about denying your mother. i never agree with anything my mother said but i feel responsible.

Yup.

Duh is the correct word.

Why would we need to keep cutting rates if the "stimulus package" was actually working? People already know they are getting the money.

i would like to but as soon as you open your mouth about it you are a racist....apparently only white people can be racists..

more disturbing then his words is the mindset from which those words are derived from....obama may not say those radical things...but does he think them and not say anything because he knows it will label him as a radical? How many in the black community feel the same way as the people in this church but just dont say anything.

we all know people and have friends that say outrageously racist things at times...i cringe and tell them to shut up....these people give a standing ovation......the reaction to his words are more disturbing to me then the actual words...

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

This is another reason I hate politics, so many things that shouldnt compound the issues do. I dont care what people are him say, just what he says. My moms an idiot and says all sorts of stupid things, do I agree, no, but shes family doesnt mean I deny all connection to her.
And the new New York govener that had an affair, I dont give a shit, can he run the state? If yes, then bang who you want

Re: Rev. Jeremiah Wright

i know what you are saying but i think this is bigger then that...you can't choose your mom...but you can and do choose your pastor. The pastor at a church is the biggest draw to that church. People change churches when pastors change. You dont sit and listen to someone for 20+ years and not agree with their beliefs he may have never heard this talk at a sermon...but i he certainly knows how the pastor truely feels.

It would also be one thing is he casually went to chruch and really didnt know Wright but that is not the case here...
