Religion

There is an 8 year old girl in my sons 2nd grade class. She has always had heart problems. She is about to go under next month for a pig valve.

February she was going into surgery. She was almost completely calm knowing she would be going to heaven if she didn't wake up. Said good bye to evreyone and she'll see them on the other side.

Pays for it all

Re: Religion

Its just a shame the extremists ruin things for everyone, and give people bias against things.
That goes for everything, not just religion

Poor little girl...I hate it when kids are hurt. She seems very courageous and strong...amazing.

Best wishes to her, her family, and her surgeons...

And when everything turns out great then thank you to the surgeons and all the people whose love embraces her....

Re: Religion

Re: Religion

In fairness to Richw he and his wife adopted two kids from the system and took them in and gave them a loving home . Aside from his politics being freakishly weird , a pretty cool thing to do and fair play to both he and his wife . Anyone can be a father but it takes a real man to be a Dad..

Re: Religion

Interesting post: SUBJECT - RELIGION
in: Controversial Topics
Content: Hopeful story about a young girl in need of critical medical attention and how her faith is helping her mitigatre the fear that she and her family must feel.

Why post this in this folder with that title? If somone, like me, thinks to weigh in on the 'religious' tone of the thread it makes it look like I'm uncaring. But then, why post it here with that title if you aren't looking for controversy?

Cheap trick....glad I didnt' fall for it.

Rich...if you really want a discussion of the roles of faith, fear and reason then put it out there without linking it to a sad story of a little girl. And if you want peoples prayers and sympathy for the little girl, dont post it in the Controversial Topics with a topic of 'Religion'

Religion is a fairy tale made real by a bunch of posturing hypocrites who believe their god can beat your god.
Pathetic that so many people die over this crap...

parents are convinced that without the fear of god their rotten kids will rape and pillage. I agree with the parents fear but not this god thingy, kids are evil to the core.

Re: Religion

8 year old girl also thought the Easter Bunny left eggs in the garden on Easter and Santa lives in the North Pole.

Examples such as this do nothing more than showcase how the Religious Side has no real arguments on which to base their faith.

"It makes me feel good" - Yea well so do hookers.

While I don't disagree with you, I have to ask, why not just respect the fact that some people want to live in a fairy tale?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, religion is for the weak and the hopeless. Some people need to have the comfort of "knowing" that their god is going to take care of them (rather than them taking care of them-damn-selves) others don't require that "comfort".
