Randy I'm not trying to pick a fight here but at what rate (lets say US Barrels/day) do you think that it is being created? This is a honest question.

WWII was a whole different ball game. First the technology that is in place today was not back in WWII. To set that system up to work with our system today would be a monumental task. Second we are not doing this for a war effort. The American consumer was less likely to resist in WWII out of sheer patriotism, not true today as most are against the current administration and would fight it tooth and nail. Third and finally nobody is going to do this because they are all out for their own ass. To implement this, or even support it for that matter, would be political suicide! This is a myth, not gonna happen.

Re: Rumor from a somewhat reliable source

Just a quick tip:

i stopped for gas this morning and by tonight the price is going up .12 per gallon. I talked with the guy who owns the place and its gonna gradually climb throughout the day to reflect the new pricing.

So the earlier you fill up the better.

I know this doesn't mean much to some but with a 20 gallon tank in a 5.3L truck it was worth the fill up.

Just a quick tip for today........

Re: Rumor from a somewhat reliable source

If I could fit anymore gas into my tank, I would. It's been full all week. Today I took the truck in since I'm going shopping after work. The rest of the week I have been hamfisting the KLR. Even riding like a Richard she still gets in the high 50's.

this happened in CA a few years ago... everyone got freaked out and went to fill up. Of course when millions of people get the same idea at the same time, stations ran out of gas... which caused people to REALLY freak out.. and more stations ran out. serious snowball effect.

Re: Rumor from a somewhat reliable source

Last week Getty in Pelham NH ran out of gas exactly for this reason. the price went up like 3 times throughout the day.

Just a little tidbit i though would be useful, sure you only save pennies, but i had my parents silverado this morning and 12 cents in a 20 gallon tank is almost 3.00, thats a gallon of gas six months ago.

i know moot point, but still 3.00 a week is 12 a month is 144 a year is half A TRACKDAY!!!!

at least I can document 25,000-30,000 business miles per year, mostly on my motorcycle

what kind of business needs/would permit 25-30K miles on a motorcycle??? aha

Large part of my business is in the gas station construction / renovation, they're always doing that kind of stuff, new software, pumps and storage tanks. Why are these oil companies investing all this money into remodeling and upgrading stations if we're running out of oil, and they pay for this work not the store operators.

either the pumps aren't accurate or my containers aren't, I'm always fitting 6½ or 7 gallons in a 5 gallon container without going above the "DO NOT FILL ABOVE THIS LINE"

at the kerosene pump, all winter, I was consistently putting 17½ gallons in 3 five gallon jugs

I have filled up my truck numerous ties and feel I am getting screwed. There is NO way my 21.1 gallon tank fits 24 in it.

Doc, just think of gas as a penis; your tank, a vagina.

1. It'll fit, no matter how much you throw at it.

2. You are getting fucked no matter how much dick there is.

Re: Rumor from a somewhat reliable source

Be prepared to pay $6.00 a gallon by the end of this summer, and in 2 to 3 years expect to be paying $10-15 a gallon.

All I gotta say is if/when gas reaches $6.00 im giving up the car and buying a bicycle. Might take me 1 1/2 hours to get to work but I'll be saving some money, and i'll be in the best shape of my life.

Enjoy!
