Am I the only one?Am I the only one thinking I really don't like either choice for President?? Obama has no experience running anything, and the last guy who gave a really good speech runs Massachusetts. We can see how that's working. McCain isn't even a Republican. I honor his war service, but after that the guy just does nothing for me. Two names I would have loved to have seen with a shot was Fred Thompson or Ron Paul. Just not feeling good about this race. ![]() |

Re: Am I the only one?democrats blew it...after 8 years of bush one of their front runners is the most disliked politician in american history and the other is the worst affirmative action hire in history that barely managed to beat out the other for the nomination... both are more of the same from the democrats, both very liberal and polarizing no matter what the bumper stickers say.... and the republicans choose 100 year old democrat thats strong on defense... |

Re: Am I the only one?they have to, obama has no record...the only way to fight that is to discredit McCain's... they are going so far as to say McCains military experience is a negative...yet they support the troops and how dare any one question their patriotism |

Re: Am I the only one?Well, Mcains' getting my vote, if for no other reason than; he was in war and he became a P.O.W. That to me says something about a mans character, what he's endured and what he's able to handle.... I know Red, it's pretty shallow of me to base my decision on the above but really what are my alternatives. Guess I'm trying to see the glass as half full. |

Re: Am I the only one?Let's see... 00 - W and Gore. 04 - W and Kerry. Yeah, I'd say I'm pretty happy with our current choice of candidates, given the shit we've had for the last two elections... |

not to mention McCain has taken over $70,000 in campaign contribution from the swiftboaters, even though back in 2004 he called them "dishonest and dishonorable". oh yea, and the ring leader colonel bud day is part of Mccains "truth squad" - so much for dishonest and dishonorable... |

Re: Am I the only one?I cant believe in the ONE election that it seemed the democrats could not POSSIBLY screw up, they run the most hodge-podge group of hardly electable candidates in history. ..."ok ok ok guys, we pretty much have this one in the bag. Who do we want to make president....." " Well, we could have the first black president.... and hey what about the first female one too!... and hey hey a tunafish sandwich has never been president! What about them!" "No larry, the tunafish is out, but the black guy and the lady, that is just crazy enough to work!" ....stupid. ![]() |

Re: Am I the only one?Guilty as charged.... I became what I dislike! Someone who pokes holes in a situation without a solid plan for patching them up! In short, im not sure, im pretty middle of the road. Into individual rights, cant stand the holy-roller approach that seems to be mandatory in DC, and cant stand the fact that no one stands for anything. They will just morph into whatever will get them the job. Reminds me of a quote from "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"....."Under no circumstances should someone capable of being elected president be allowed to actually do the job." |

Re: Am I the only one?An advisor to Obama... Political Radar: Dem Guru: McCain 'Limited' by POW Years Knowing how the game is played, Obama could never say this stuff himself (nor could McCain the other way regarding sensitive matters), but when people close do it, it should raise an eyebrow. |

Obama adviser Rand Beers said yesterday that "because [McCain] was in isolation essentially for many of those years and did not experience the turmoil here or the challenges that were involved for those of us who served in Vietnam during the Vietnam war," that "to some extent his national security experience in that regard is sadly limited and I think it is reflected in some of the ways that he thinks about how U.S. forces might be committed to conflicts around the world." http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/06/top-dem-mccain.html ___________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ A prominent local Barack Obama backer bashed John McCain's military record Monday, calling the Republican presidential candidate a "self-promoter." http://savannahnow.com/node/500390 ___________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller: “Frankly, other than hot-button issues like campaign finance reform… he isn’t grounded in issues that affect people. All of a sudden he’s for all the tax cuts he was against. He’s a fighter pilot. He flies at 35,000 feet and drops laser-guided bombs, missiles. He was long gone when they hit. What happened down there, he doesn’t know. That’s unkind, because that’s fighting for your nation and that’s honorable. But you sort of have to care what goes on in the lives of people…. “ ___________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________ Washington, D.C. — Republican presidential candidate John McCain's family background as the son and grandson of admirals has given him a worldview shaped by the military, "and he has a hard time thinking beyond that," Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Ia., said Friday. "I think he's trapped in that," Harkin said in a conference call with Iowa reporters. "Everything is looked at from his life experiences, from always having been in the military, and I think that can be pretty dangerous. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080517/NEWS09/805170330/1001/NEWS 2) yes they are you're pink panties must be filtering reality again...a common problem with the left. 3) how do you spell typical left twist of reality. Big difference between the 2...mccain didn't come home and pretend to throw his metals away while accusing the military of all kinds of atrocities that were never proven have even the slightest bit of legitimacy to them...then 30 years later launch presidential campaign bragging about his service...what was word were you looking to spell again? hypocritical? here's the definition...clearly you need a little refresher 1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. 2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements. |
