and who more qualified to moderate the 4th grade bullshit than the former head of the PTA. it was still better than anything i heard at the DNC where their best speech was delivered by a man who does not believe in his party's choice. "i support obama!" yea ok bill...

I watched about 5 minutes of Rudy's speech and changed the channel. Way too negative, so much so that it made me uncomfortable and sounded a bit desperate. I'm interested to see what others thought.

I thought Palin did a nice job, and I'm looking forward to the debates between the candidates. I still have no idea who I'm voting for though. I did realize something painfully funny towards the end of McCain speaking. He reminds me a bit of Dr. Evil from "Austin Powers"!

I agree that Guiliani was too childish in his speech and attacks tonight. I think it was over the top, and something that could linger for a couple days.

I was extremely impressed with Sarah Palin, and if she was running for president, I'd be more interested. I think it is too bad that she spent the most of her time focusing on the democrates, because I wanted to know more about her, and what she has done, and what her plans are. We know very little about her, and I don't if this was the best time for her to start going after the democratic party.


McCain shows his age when he is with her though, which I don't think can help him.

I am a big supporter of the Obama/Biden ticket, but if the republican ticket was Huckabee/Palin ticket, I'd have to make some decisions.

Over all both conventions for me have been very interesting, and I'm looking forward to the next couple months and learning more about how both parties are going to fix our country.

Oh I hear ya. Problem is I'd rather not think at the bare minimum which seems to be what all our candidates are limited to at the moment.

Don't tell me "don't you think we've got the best choice for VP"....tell me HOW she's the best choice....ya know?

jnm988 makes a great point about the speach. "Desperation" is the word that definitely comes to mind....another one is "hack". For a man of his stature, that's the best he can do?

i do agree with you on that. this has also been the weak point of the McCain campaign. he is really great with unprepared remarks and you become very aware he is reading a speach when he has a prompter in front of him. i will be interested to see how he does tonight.

Rudy's speech was terrible... way too negative and insulting too everyone. Too much rhetoric and not enough focus on what the Republican ticket will accomplish and plans that can result in positive change. Overall, his speech did more harm than good in my opinion.

Palin's speech was good, but it still lacked something. While I don't think empty speeches with flair like Obama delivers is the answer... I think she needs to get build some spark into her delivery.

I didn't see any of the DNC so I can't compare...

what's wrong with that? Or am i mistaken, is a teen from a well off family and about to married that will pay for that child instead of the tax payers the same thing as the teen with no resources that is going to rely on the tax payers money to raise her child?
