Re: Obama who's happy

any one else terrified about the "new" breast cancer theories/recommendations and that that may be a peek into national healthcare. The new health czar or whatever has written some pretty scary stuff about his thought...everything is a cost benefit analysis

Re: Obama who's happy

My heroes are people I personally know. I do not put people on a pedestal, especially politicians. So please stop assuming who or what I like or dislike or idolize based on the fact that I have some liberal beliefs that you have observed.

You stated that you exaggerated and injury. Was the injury as bad as you made it out to be? No, based on the definition of exaggerating the injury was not as bad as you said it was. Therefore you lied. Congrats, you are a draft dodger.

Like I have said a more than a few times here, you can rationalize it anyway you want. At the end of the day you lied to skirt your responsibilities and now advocate others to do that very same service. If you wanna dodge the draft that's fine, I don't really give a shit what you do in your life, but don't spout from your high horse advocating sending anyone to war when you yourself ran from it. If you had said you dodged the draft because you did not advocate war, that would be fine and I would only think of you as a coward. But for you to dodge the draft and then advocate the sending of other people’s children to war makes you coward and a hypocrite. Cowardice and hypocrisy are two of the most deplorable qualities and are exemplified by most of the politicians you hate.

What’s great about this is that I am the average person that people like you on either side of the spectrum alienate as opposed to actually getting them to think about what you say.

My service to my country is irrelevant as are my reasons for doing so, but I will indulge you. I saw no economic benefit to serving until I got out of the service and received my education benefits. This point is moot due to the fact that my family had more than enough money to pay my tuition out of pocket to most any state school. My service has actually hampered me a bit in comparison to my peers in that I am starting a career a full 6 years behind them. You can try and spin my service any way you would like to take focus off you, but the fact remains I decided to join the military from a young age and followed through with that purely on my desire to service my country.

Re: Obama who's happy

Thank you for your service,
I am surprised that ex military arrives at your political persuasion.

I will use your own thoughts that this decision as was mine is irrelevant to the strength our arguments today.

Dog with the bone, mea culpa,. Should I have wanted I could have shown either health or infirmity. It was a real injury that I could have hidden, if I chose to. During my deplorable hypocrisy I was a volunteer fireman in Mamaroneck, NY and lead a smoke confused priest out of his burning rectory. We had 8 miles of I95 to scrape up and at least 1 fire call a week. I received a sprained backwith some nerve and disk damage and recovery was about 1 month. I hid under the covers the whole time. Now I am in Cub Scouts so I can convince those children to go fight in foriegn wars.

I maintain that the lives of the troops are very valuable, as I thought mine was. I don't want them squandered as they were in Vietnam. Remember that after we declared victory and left over 1 million of our former friends were executed. Now they want to make our Barbies.

I once again state for the sake of this Obama thread.

Half measures and dithering as in Vietnam will result in most dead on both sides. The enemy will be emboldened to continue the fight and the countries citizens will be unsure whether to side with us or them. The war will drag on and on.

So once again I say either let loose the dogs of war and back up the troops with what ever decision they make to kill the enemy and protect themselves, or go home and accept that there will be terrorist training camps etc. established there.

Re: Obama who's happy

A statement I read today, not in the conservative Union Leader, rather in the liberal Fosters Daily Democrat

"The Obama White House already lacks credibility about the supposed success of the stimulus program after touting 'saved' or 'created' jobs that only fantasy or fiction can explain, now, we read reports of more exaggerated job claims and phantom congressional districts. This major program is turning into a major embarrassment."

Promise Kept: Direct military leaders to end war in Iraq
Quote:
Obama orders 'responsible' withdrawal from Iraq

Updated: Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 | By Angie Drobnic Holan

On Jan. 21, 2009 — his first full day in office — President Obama met privately with the military commanders in charge of Iraq.

The White House announced that morning that attendees were to expected to include the following: Vice President Joe Biden; a representative from the State Department; Defense Secretary Robert Gates; White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel; national security adviser Gen. James Jones; chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Michael Mullen; Gen. David Petraeus, commander in chief, U.S. Central Command; U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker; and Gen. Ray Odierno, commander of the Multi-National Force in Iraq. Odierno was expected to join via video conference.

After the meeting, Obama issued a statement, included below in its entirety:

"This afternoon, I met with our ambassador to Iraq, the commander in Iraq, and the overall theater commander in the region in order to get a full update on the situation in Iraq. Key members of my Cabinet and senior national security officials also participated in this meeting.

"The meeting was productive and I very much appreciated receiving assessments from these experienced and dedicated individuals. During the discussion, I asked the military leadership to engage in additional planning necessary to execute a responsible military drawdown from Iraq.

"In the coming days and weeks, I will also visit the Department of Defense to consult with the Joint Chiefs on these issues, and we will undertake a full review of the situation in Afghanistan in order to develop a comprehensive policy for the entire region."

Promise kept.

Re: Obama who's happy

Considering this country is in the business of building military bases all over the world I have to say anyone who thought Obama was going to withdraw troops from Iraq and or Afghan is a complete moron. During the run up to the election all the Repukes, well I should say pretend Repukes, in my office would cry and whine about about this. lol.

I am happy to see that Obama is making the rounds to countries throughout the world.

I'd also like to add that there is nothing wrong with Obama making a speech in an Islamic Forum. It could be worse. He could tell the entire world to fuck off, invade two countries for oil all while on vacation.

Re: Obama who's happy

I just received this:

Side note:
Nidal Hasan was Homeland Security advisor on Obama's transition team. He was a participant and is listed on Page 29 of the document, along with others. Now we have a little insight into why Obama said to not jump to conclusions about Nidal Hasan. This man who killed and wounded the people at Fort Hood, Texas was an advisor to Obama's Homeland Security team.

Look on page 29 of the Homeland Security Institute document at the link below:

Bad day to be a bedwetting, birdwatching, clueless, limp wristed blowhole.

I think the sun just got a little brighter and the clouds a little fluffier. And gas just a few cents cheaper.
