I just wanted to give Peter Kates a huge

.
Sometime ago I bought a Fox TC with the idea of changing my rear shock and doing the forks. I was going to do this...then...I was going to get help to do it....never happened. Finally, after reading about Peter doing the suspension demo this past winter (thanks to Derek) and this summer Peter stepping up and sponsoring NESR with the suspension corner..I finally had to pull the trigger and get the suspension sorted out on my SV. Now I know that many folks here like to do it themselves..well..I can tell you that if you want to save sweat, time, peace -of mind, and a whole host of other PIA items....bring the bike to Peter. He can deal with forks and shocks in his sleep. If I hadn't been talking so much he would have had my bike torn down and rebuilt in 1 hour or so..this is pulling of the fork..rebuilding the internals, drilling and machining, reinstalling the fork, removing the shock, installing a new shock and changing the spring that came with my unit, mounting the remote res. and settting the suspenion. All of the while..he chatted with me and listened patiently to my naive questions, etc. Also..my Fox TC ccame without some critical parts and instructions...Peter had everything neccessary to fix the problems (whereas I would have been screwed).
I deferred to his experience for fork oil, spring rate, etc....and I have to say that the bike rides soooooooooo much better. It is like riding on a brand new bike. With this simple fix the bike tracks better, handles better, is plush and yet at the same time confidence inspiring.
I rode down this AM on 126 and it is all busted up. The stock SV bounced everywhere. Riding home was a blast..I was looking for bumps and crappy pavement.
Thank you Peter for a great job. Thanks to Derek for putting the bug in my ear with the clinic.
I can highly recommend Peter Kates. He knows suspension and everyone would benefit from a little time with him. If you are thinking about your suspension(or even not thinking)..give Peter a call and support the companies that support your interests. Plus he gives a nice NESR discount...sweeeet.
