Horrible Experience/Cycles128I wasn't going to post this, but I figured that most, if not all of the folks on this forum expect to be treated professionally when they purchase a new bike or parts from their local shop. I followed an eBay link for a 450 Honda that was listed by Cycles128 yesterday. I emailed the sales manager Paul for info. He was vague the 1st time. I asked him again, vague again. After asking him for his contact info and his schedule so I could call and do business with him directly for the third time, I wrote back and told him to forget it. He immediately told me that "Some people like to do business the old fashioned way". I asked him why they are spending valueable marketing dollars on eBusiness if they were not going to maxamize on it. He replied with "PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL 1.978......". So I tell him I've been in sales a long time and I was all set with him getting me on the phone so he can try and upsell me in to whatever he felt he could get me to buy at the time. He replied with "I wish you a better season next year. Did you fall and hurt your poor little brain?" At that point I pretty much flipped out. I crashed hard in 6 last year and was out for the entire season, and we just Lost Bryan P. a month ago. So I reply and proceed to tell him right where to go, and that he shouldn't be allowed within 100 miles of any motorbike. He replies with some snide comment that he was just concerned for my well being!!! THEN, he tells me he knew Bryan and used to race with him "back in the day". Bullshit! Even if he did ride with Bryan, this guy is nothing but a squid that thinks he was a racer. NO REAL RACER WOULD EVER MAKE THAT KIND OF COMMENT ABOUT ANOTHER RACER, period! I know a lot of you buy stuff from this place, and that's fine. But the folks here that are true motorcycle and racing enthusiasts should think about the mentality of these people, and if they still want to give this place their hard earned money. For a Manager, at a BIKE DEALERSHIP no less, to make fun of racers that crash and take their life in jeopardy is one of the lowest things a human being can do, in my opinion. Thanks for taking time to read this. Ride and race safe! Heath- |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128People are awfully ballsy sometimes on e-bay, and say some stupid shit. Cycles128 - I'll make it a point never to bid on their auctions on e-bay. Losers. |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128There is another reason I won't deal with GBM, Cycles128, or Parkway cycles. Customer service is almost non-existant with most of their staff. It's not about helping the customer it's only about the commission. |

RidiculousWOW! So all of those shops suck that bad huh? I did find out that this guy is an ex racer from back in the day and was evidently pretty good at it. That makes his crash comment even more unacceptable! I just can't fathom the fact that this guy didn't want my business if I was going to communicate with him via the net. Moreover, he's an ex-racer and is making fun of guy's crashing? WHATTTT!!!!!??? Did I miss something, or is this guy the poster boy for SQUIDNESS!? Please just do me the favor of telling your friend's and such that Cycles128's sales management has no problem telling potential customers that they find it humorous when racers crash and get hurt badly. And they have the ballz to put that in an email to someone that is simply trying to buy a friggin bike from them! Maybe some folks will think twice before giving them their money. |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128You guys couldn't be more right! Everyone I know including myself has had horror stories from dealing with them. The one exception to their family of dealerships is Plaistow Power Sports, I get everything from them and they treat me great. I wouldn't set foot into their other dealerships, but I will reccommend Plaistow to you guys. You could also hit up G&G cycles in Salisbury, they have taken care of my Kawi and Polaris need for years, and they've recently added Yamaha and Suzuki to their lineup. Their prices aren't the best, but they'll take care of you if you do business with them. |

Thanks guys, I was hoping I wasn't the only one who wants to burn the place to the ground, with all the idiots inside! Friggin moron's! ![]() |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128Yeah Cycles128, GBM, Parkway, and plastow all I believe are owned by the same owner. The first three are ridiculous just because they care nothing about what they are selling, just about selling it. A friend of mine worked at parkway for a while, but before that he worked at naults in NH. He hated parkway because you don't get any pay at all except for what you bring in from commission, so nobody there is flexible and they will just take you for however much they can. Through a friend that we ride we he put a few of my friends in touch with a dealer in CT that sold and shipped bikes to outside of boston for less than MSRP(and I meant the bike plus shipping to boston still came out to less than MSRP). So we went to GBM just to look try on some new gear, and out of curiousity we asked one of the salesperson what the lowest price on an 04 gsxr600 or an 04 R6. He replied with a fim $8,500 and nothing less. We then went on to tell him about the price we got for the bikes delivered from CT and he got pissed off and began to yell and scream about that guy taking money off of his table and making it harder for him to make a living. Do I even have to mention the amount these dealers will try to rape people when it comes to getting your bike serviced also. If you search around you will find way better mechanics to deal with that won't forget to put oil in your bike when you bring it in to get an oil change, that is if you don't do your oil yourself. |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128It seems that almost all dealerships I have dealt with have POOR service. I just can't believe that these people can stay in business. I have been charged for things I haven't bought and not recieved things I have. I am so bullshit with most of these companies that I have talked to my local mechanic (who by the way is GREAT and HONEST, place is called WINNERS CIRCLE over in candia,NH) about expanding into a dealership for motorcycle accessories. If you guys/girls want to PM me with what you would like to see carried and would be willing to buy either over the internet or in person let me know. If I get enough info together he may be willing to expand. He has spoken about it before. I know he would never insult you or sell you something you do not need. He carries a small assortment of snowmobile gear and he personally test everything himself. He refuses to sell anything that does not stand up. ![]() |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128I have yet to hear anything good about this place yet Four years ago when i was searching for my R7, cycles128 actually gave me the best price using email. Once i made the phone call to secure a deal, things didn't take long to change. Needless to say, that phone call was the last time they heard from me |

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!And just when I was getting comfortable with them again? The "manager" gave me a tire refund without much of a hassle after 60 days, so I returned the good fortune by paying more than the internet locally (128) for my battery. Who knows, the parts guy was kinda helpful with my battery, but this guy sounds like a dick for acting that way. Well its text book: One bad apple ruins the efforts of others....................... Group letter? -Suf Daddy |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128When I was going to get my 600 mile service done they tried to give me a statement for the cost of it even when they told me I would get a free 600 mile service when I bought my bike. The pricks actually put down that it took them 3 hours to change the oil on the bike, 1 hour to do the actual 600 mile service, and 1 hour to do some other bullshit. So they wanted to charge me labor rates for 5 hours and I was shocked at how they actually try to rip people off like that. All I know is the next time I need to get a major service like that done on a bike, I am hoping by that time I will be able to do it myself, or I will go to a guy I met that gives really good deals. |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128Thanks for the heads up on these f#$&tards. Their bringing the business down. It is a very remote possibility that I would ever frequent a shop so far away from me, but I'll remember the name in order to warn others who may be thinking of it. These types of business practices mentioned in this thread definitely reduce this shop to less than sh%t on the sole of my shoe. |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128Great write, Heath. Never mind not pursuing a sale, but making childish comments on ANYONE crashing is pretty beat. You SHOULD shoot him an email with the link to this thread. Also point out how many members we have here AND tell him to watch the THREAD VIEW count... It amazes me that people in this type of business don't realize how tight knit a community sportbiking is. Especially given the types of mass communication we now all have available to us... |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128See Heath? Less than 24 hours and it's already had well over TWO HUNDRED views! And it has the potential of being viewed by a thousand or so New England area sport bike riders. It really is a shame there's places like that out there. But it seems to be par for the course for THEM. I don't know how they stay in business that way... BTW-I moved this thread to over here and got ridda the other one. They seemed identical, and no one had replied in the other... |

So, here's a little point to ponder for all you douche bag sales types who act like the guy mentioned at the beginning of this thread: "A satisfied customer is free advertising for you. A dissatisfied customer is negative advertising. This is bad news and bad news travels fast....faster than a stolen 'Busa". ![]() |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128What's that other saying? Something like, '..a happy customer will tell a coupla people. An unhappy customer will tell as many as he can...' Or something like that... The fallout from shoddy salesmanship or shady customer service can be horendous. And I'm not really focusing on this guy's comments 'cuz (no offense, Heath) I didn't see/hear HOW he said it. The simple fact that he took such an approach to a possible sale blows my mind... I can understand him being vague at first when contacted by email. I mean, how many of us have had some schmuck dick us around via email when we've had something for sale? But you'd think it woulda been approached with the mindset that this may also NOT be bullshit, that this could be an actual sale... Whatever the story, given today's technology you'd THINK people would focus a little more on actually serving the customer. The ripple effect now-a-days can be astounding... |

Horrible Experience/Cycles128I banned 128 and Parkway awhile ago. Back in 2002 within 6 months I bought a Raptor and my R1 brand new along with a good amount of performance parts etc.. Overall about $18k within 6 months, thats a customer you want to keep. they screwed me on 2 seperate incidents, one for maintance and then for an insurance estimate for damages when I crashed. They where complete asses to me and delayed how long I was without a bike. I found Riverside (Yamaha,Kawasaki,Ducati) in Somerville to be great. The owner is always there on the sales floor, the parts and service department I find to be helpful and alot cheaper than the competition. When I crashed earlier this year, the girl behind the counter in parts completely sympathized and had my parts within days. |
