Regarding the best retailers to buy helmets from... What is the best price? Who offers the best service? Etc, etc, etc...

FYI, if ANY of our members are looking for great service, and the best prices on the internet for HELMETS - the place to visit is www.helmetharbor.com and they will be impressed!

I have bought from them before, and they present ALL CHARGES up front on their website. There are NO bogus handling fees (which are a pure profit center, and the primary drawback to most internet retailers). Also, their shipping fees are MINOR and are all INCLUDED in the price of the helmet as shown on their website. You know immediately what you are going to pay - the second you look at a helmet on their website...sort of a refreshing change, huh?

I recently ordered / received an "Agostini Classic" Arai Quantum F from them. The entire cost for that helmet was $383.95 delivered (in perfect condition) to my door! That price applies to ALL of the racer replicas, and the regular colors are even less expensive. This is a GREAT deal - about $120 less than typical retailers. Oh yeah, did I mention they ship everything Fed-X, and e-mail you a tracking number when it ships (which you never need because they run like clockwork)?

Helmets are their primary business, and they are the best at helmet retailing. They are focused, and the owner - Todd Mittness - is a quality business person, and a pleasure to deal with.

Quick update to my post on www.helmetharbor.com - you are going to love this...

I am going to buy an ARAI Signet GT helmet (the Signet simply fits be better). I have purchased from Helmet Harbor before, and I logged onto the website. I noted that the pricing for the Signet replica's was a bit higher than the pricing for the Quantum replicas. So, I wrote to the owner (Todd Mittness) who I have dealt with before, and is an EXCELLENT business person and really focused on customer service.

I asked him if I could get the same price for the Signet GT in a replica model as for the Quantum line in a replica model (price is $383.95 delivered to your door, and is the best available). He said yes, he would honor the price, and is willing to work with his customers. Oh yeah, and he only sells top of the line 2000 Snell certified helmets!

Get smart - and quit getting ripped off for these expensive helmets. Call Todd, or log onto the website, and SAVE MONEY! By comparison, this same helmet - if bought locally would cost you between $125 and $180 more!

Take my word on it - this guy is the stuff. I don't recommend sites that I don't have in-depth personal experience with...but this one is at the top of my list.

Great job lining up the banner exchange too!

I just want to encourage you folks to use these guys. We've done a banner exchange with them, so you can find them on our links page (well, in 10 minutes you'll find it). Craig says these guys rock, and he's usually right about this stuff. So, keep them in mind when you're looking for a new helmet.

I'm considering trying out some Arai's...but I really need to try them on in person so I'll be going to Brockton Motorsports (sick sick sick selection of gear!) soon to try some on.

Me too...one of these saturdays I'm going to Brockton Cycles to try on some Arai's...and when I find the right model/size (if that happens...) I'll order from HH. I love my shoei, but the ventilation sucks (I'll keep it as a cool weather helmet) and it's kinda heavy. We'll see!

Last night I ordered an Arai RX7 Grey Edwards. Hopefully I'll have it soon...and I'll post my thoughts regarding Helmet Harbor.

ok, Arai fucked Helmet Harbor and now they can't sell anything online that was made after 9/1/01. So I just ordered it from helmetshop.com Should have it Friday. Fuckin' Arai.
