Called up and ordered a pair of SMX plus boots at 3pm on a tuesday. Guess what's at my door at noon the next day? That's right, a pair of SMX plus boots!

Which, as an aside, are the fucking shit. Wish they were a bit more muted in the styling as I'm not a big fan of the gloss black ABS plastic parts or the big shiny white ALPINESTARS logo, but these boots fit my foot 100% better than the sidi vertigos that I tried on, the inner boot lacing allows for a tight but comfortable fit, and the ski-boot style ratcheting calf is light years away in durability and convenience from the mechanism sidi uses, IMHO.

Just one more plug for local dealers. Brockton is great, internet pricign with local service. Paid no more than I would have from any internet dealer but got next day service and the convenience of knowing that there was a brick and mortar store I could walk in to try on / return the boots if they weren't quite up to par.

But they are, and I'm a happy camper. VIR, here we come!
