Pit Bull - ROCKS!Hey guys, Got my new Pit Bull REVERSIBLE one armed rear stand for the Duc yesterday. This thing is the BALLS! You can lift the bike from the LEFT in order to take the wheel off, etc. OR, you can lift it from the RIGHT in order to remove the sprocket or do other work on the swingarm side! This makes the simple task of cleaning and lubing the chain a BREEZE - MUCH EASIER WITHOUT A BIG STAND IN THE WAY! I am so glad I found this REVERSIBLE stand, and didn't just get one of the standard one arm stands that lifts from the LEFT SIDE ONLY, and is always a PITA! I was THISCLOSE to getting that "standard stand" as the one I got with the bike is a factory stand (made of the same steel tubing as the frame - big deal), without wheels. By the way, the cost was $179. That's only $40 more than for the "regular" stand that you can use on only the left side The purchase price INCLUDES both pins you need to lift the bike (the fit inside the axle is different from either side, thus requiring different pins for each). The regular "one armed rear" stand from Pit Bull fits Honda Hawk, VFR, RC 30/45, NC 30/35, RS 250, Ducati 996/916/748, Triumph T509/T595, MV Augusta F4. I believe this reversible one will as well. The only thing that might vary is the pin needed to lift from the RIGHT side. If you have a bike that requires a stand like this...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS REVERSIBLE PIT BULL STAND! This is the best innovation in rear stands since the rear stand itself! ![]() [Edited on 7/26/01 by cRa1g] |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!I hear that! My new stands are SWEEEEET! ....though I only used them once, cleaned my front rim (soooo easy with the bike on the stand!)...and then was sweating so bad I had to put it all away. But still....good quality stuff! |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!JC, I'm getting ready to buy a "front" Pit Bull stand as well, but I'm deciding on the type. I want to get one that I can use with BOTH of the bikes (tire changes, cleaning etc.). I don't believe I'll be doing (removing / servicing) the forks on my own, so I think I'll just go for the standard front stand that fits "all current sportbikes". I'm going to call them to determine the best option. ![]() |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!Well, THAT didn't take me long to decide on the front stand... ![]() I just HAD to call them back today and order one right away (I guess I'll need it if we are going to be doing our own tire changes - right JC?). Anyway, I called them up, and told them that I just received the rear REVERSIBLE stand for the DUC, and that I LOVED IT! I told them that I wanted to buy a "Forklift Front" stand which is the easier one that Eug has. Because it is THAT much easier to use, and you can get a converter later to do fork work with (I doubt I will, but it's there if I choose to)...I had to go with this easy unit. By the way, YES - the front stand should never be used without the rear in place (according to my conversation with Pit Bull only minutes ago. Here's the kicker... I told the guy I wanted two spare "hubcaps" (the things that fit over the edges of the axle, and hold the wheels on), AND two spare wheels "just in case". He agreed to "throw them in the box" free of charge. He said the likelihood that I would ever need them is nonexistent, but hey, can't hurt to have spares "just in case"...right? Besides, he's giving them to me for free! Now, I can't wait to get the FRONT stand! The good news is it will work with both bikes, and I won't have to get converters / pins etc... After my experience with the reversible stand for the Duc, I am blown away by these stands. They are awesome - I'm not buying any other from now on. PS - If you think you MAY be buying two, I'd recommend it. The shipping costs are the same for one OR two. I'm paying another $18.00 by buying the front stand after the fact... |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!I'm gettin' really close to just callin' those fuckers too! It was a nice gesture for my bud to weld brackets on the old stand, but it's just no substitute for a real spooled swing arm stand... |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!OK guys, I received my "Front Forklift" stand today from our friends in Alabama, and once again...THIS THING ROCKS! Uhhh...figuratively speaking of course - the stand itself is solid as a rock. I think with the bike up on both front AND rear stands, I'd have a hard time KICKING it off of them! ![]() This front forklift stand is SO EASY to use, even I can do it! I had to try it out right away, and it's like cake. I will buy the adapter when / if I ever start doing my own fork work, but for now (wheel cleaning / removal / brake work / etc.) this stand is the balls! ![]() Jay - AND OTHERS - do yourself a favor...get Pit Bull stands. These things are simply the best. ![]() |

Pit Bull - ROCKS!Seeing as I have a makeshift stand that works, I'll probably be holding off for those until this winter. (yet another winter purchase). But I did get some spools from them a coupla weeks ago, and I gotta tell ya they were great to deal with. Got 'em in the mail 3 days after I placed the order!! |
