Time to Bitch.. Depot Honda

Warning: The following message contains the rants and ravings of a motorcycle owner gone mad. The message is the opinion of this rider/writer only and is not necessarily the opinion of NESR. All rights reserved. (How's that JC?)

Them muthafuckers! I bought my 00 929rr at the end of April this year. Thought I got a good deal on a leftover, ya right!

After gently going through the break-in period my problems started. At about 1,000 miles the red warning light and my FI light started coming on. Brought it back to the dealer, MAY, they diagnosed it as a bad sensor. They told me they switched it and I drove away, all smiles.

Two weeks, 350 miles later, lights came back on. Brought it to the dealer. Hmmm... they say, we wonder what it could be. Leave it here and we'll look into it. Fucking assholes! I was supposed to take the bike with us to New Brunswick/Nova Scotia for a trip. Well, bike was not fixed and they still had no idea what it was. Service guy told me it was ok to bring home but suggested it would be a bad idea to take on vacation. By the way, this is almost two weeks later! Well, couldn't cancel my reservations, vacation time, etc... Took vacation, no bike!!!

Came back from vacation, started bike, now I'm getting a rattle under my balls. Appears to be the fuel pump. Called the dealer. "Bring it back in," he says, "we got the part we ordered before you went on vacation." What part I say, had no idea what the fuck he was talking about. Anyway, I tell him about my new rattle. He says, "Ohh, don't drive it, but bring it in right away." I tell him what a pain in the balls this is for me. He offers to come pick it up for me, $60! Fuckers!

I get the bike to the shop, almost two weeks ago now. They call me three days! after I drop it off. Ordered wrong part, need whole new throttle body. Call me this week on Tuesday and tell me they put in the part but the warning lights are still on. They have no idea why. He now suggests I may need to have a new wiring harness put in.

I start to show my displeasure at this point and he let's me know how much money they have sunk into the problem. LIKE I GIVE A FLYING FUCK HOW MUCH THEY HAVE PAID!

This is where it gets interesting. The asshole tells me his tech guys have been on the line with Honda for hours and that they have left several messages for Honda. He also tells me that they need to order a piece of testing equipment. Shouldn't they have the proper testing equipment if they are going to sell/service these bikes?

I got pissed off and called Honda. They attempted to pacify me and told me I would have an answer this morning, by 10am. Tick tick tick... One hour from now.

I also called the AG's office, maybe the Lemon Law would apply here.

Thanks for allowing me to vent. I just can't believe the total incompetance at this service department. I am supposed to go on the VT trip with SRNE next week. God help someone if my bike isn't ready.

Damn guy, good luck! I always had good luck with them back when they were in Hampton Ctr...and I had my CBR 1000F serviced there two years ago with no issue at all. Seems like you're sure not getting any vaseline though. Keep us posted!

You would think that they would at least buy dinner first.

Not sure how far you are from North Reading Honda. I only had them mount my wheels, but Paul L. is sponsored by them and (surprise) highly recommended them.

A new wiring harness? That is a bullshit call. They don't have a clue. Keep calling their shop, daily. And call Honda customer service. Tell them you'd like the area manager/rep to contact you if the dealer makes no progress. There is no reasonable reason the bike should have that much down time. If they haven't figured out what's wrong by now.. Sounds like it's about time for some factory intervention, and customer support.

That sounds like a good idea. Obviously these morons do not have a clue. Get someone from Honda recommend you a different shop or do something else.
The longer the bike is in that shop more fucked up it gets.

WAAAAAAHHHH! WAAHHH! Yes folks, that's me crying!

Guess what, no fucking phone call by 10am. I took a ride over to Depot as they are 10 minutes from me. Latest update...!

Service Manager, let's call him "Blowjob", tells me that his tech guys, let's call them "cocksukas", were on the phone with the Honda tech line for hours. They have no idea what the problem is. BJ wants to try putting in a new wiring harness for the fuel injection system. He wanted to wait until he heard back from Honda to see if that was a good idea. He also needed to check with the owner of Depot to get authorization to have the harness overnighted. I used a little persuasion and BJ decided to go ahead and order this part. Even overnighted they can't get to the job until Tuesday. One of the CS guys is out tomorrow and they are closed Sunday & Monday!

I told BJ that I had already contacted the Attorney General's office and they are sending me paperwork to start arbitration, I actually did do this, not just a scare tactic.

BJ assured me that they would get it fixed. I made it pretty clear when I went over that I was very disappointed and felt that Depot should step up to the plate on this.

MOTHERFUCKAS!

Get's even worse, my paycheck didn't go in today, payroll company fucked up. Anyone wanna take a guess at how many checks are gonna bounce!

I also got a bill from the hospital for $1k for a visit. Seems my insurance company is fucking around too!

I better stop before I get too far off topic!

Stoneman, got anything good that could help clear, rather cloud, my mind and ease my soul?

Heee hee huh.....

Listen man. Take it somewhere else, plain & simple. I've never used 'em, but I hear the service dep't at Nault's in Manchester, NH is pretty decent. Why not give 'em a call and talk to the service manager over there? When I bought the used VTR last year, he answered A TON of questions I had. And he had NO IDEA who was on the other end of the phone....

Did you mention the stator to them? Again, I'm by no means a mechanic but the symptoms (sans the FI light) sound a lot like something that happened to me a few years back. And I've heard another 'new' bike with the same symptoms/same diagnosis....

You have every right to be pissed, and I think the AG's office was a good call. I'm hoping you had to tell 'em which dealership it is...

And don't forget to remind Depot of the 'internet presence'!!!

Tuesday, tick/tock/tick/tock. No call from the service guy. Went over to see him. Funny, the tech guy that was working on it is out today. Not only did they order a new wiring harness for the fuel injection system, they ordered a wiring harness for the bike too, just in case.

I got a little heated and he decided to put another tech guy on it, WHILE I WAS THERE! They got the bike loaded up now and are trying the fi harness first.

He was going to wait until tomorrow and apparently wasn't going to call! What the fuck! The bike has been there for almost three weeks now!

It better be fuckin' fixed today!

JC, I called the service dick. I told him in no uncertain terms that I would be by at 5pm to pick it up, fixed or not. I just got the paperwork for arbiytration. If it's not fixed then I will be filing the paperwork!

Damn it man!

Oh ya, I will be there tomorrow night. Might be holding an action. No, not for the bike, for the service manager's tiny little balls!

I came back to the office just to post this fuckin thread. Went to the dealership at 3pm as the regional service manager was at the shop working on my bike.

Total fuckin' morons... all of 'em. They didn't want to give me the bike at 6pm, yes folks at the dealership 3hrs. Anyway, at 6:10 they come out and tell me it's fixed and ready to go. Believe me, your getting the short version.

So I leave, ride around for a 1/2, no problems. Then on they come, like a fuckin' xmas tree, red warning light and fuel injection light. Still seems to run ok. I'm going to ride a bit more and debate on taking it this weekend. Either way, I'm filing paperwork. Just means no bike after this weekend for at least 40 days!
