Band-Aid Advanced Healing pads

Hahahah... this review is for you riders who don't wear your gear.

Last Saturday I crashed my mountain bike wearing typical squid/poser gear... I.e. short sleeve shirt, shorts, and sneakers, and gloves. (Oh and a helmet of course)

I tried these "Band Aid Advanced Healing pads", they are $6 for a package of 4, but they seem to work well and they are fairly convenient. Instead of having to change the bandages every day, you just slap one of these over the wound (the whole thing is covered with glues) and leave it there as long as it will stay on. It's basically like a skin graft... they absorb the moisture from your skin so no scab forms, and the wound heals faster.

They stay on fine through showers, working out, etc... and you feel no pain since there is no scabbing, itching, etc..

I pulled one of them off today, I had a about a 2"x2" patch of rash on my shoulder, I left one of these pads on it for maybe 50 hours and it's 99% healed. No scab, no scar, I just pulled it off and there was fresh skin, a little red but pretty much good to go. It had already healed a little before I put it on, but it was still bleeding and hadn't formed a scab.

I'm going to pull the other two off tonight, they were more serious cuts.

Downsides to these things are they are pretty expensive and they're probably not big enough for really serious amounts of road rash if you fell off a motorcycle. If you could find them in a larger size they would be nice though.

Ben
