Need Help... bodywork & shit

Beyond having no riding ability I also have no idea what to do with my bike now.

It is running great... no mechanical issues. However I have no plastic left. The only thing that survived was my tank, small scuff. I am going to have to replace the whole rear frame assembly, headlight assembly and gawd knows what else. The worst part about it is my insurance is not going to cover it!

Any recommendations on where I can get parts, cheap, and who might be a good body guy.

Thanks,
Rich

I would normally suggest ron ayers motorsports, but they don't have anything listed for a 929. It might be worth calling them tho...they have great prices on new bodywork.

Rich, look for the race take-offs. I have seen a few Suzuki and Yamaha bodywork sets listed. Don't recall seeing anything for 929 though. Also aftermarket stuff will most likely be cheaper than Honda's OEM shit.

Check out some salvage yards. You may find some stuff in decent condition until you find a deal on new stuff.

As for bolting it on, if you have time my vote would be do it yourself. You will know exactly what and where to look out for when you start riding the bike again.

NHRocketBoy,

You have a 929 right? What exactly do you need for the "rear frame assembly"? Do you mean the swingarm? the tire and rim? Chain? or you mean the rear frame section that holds the seat and tail assembly?

I have a complete ass-end of a 929 sitting in my garage from when I crashed my old one. The subframe is in perfect shape, and I *think* the frame piece that holds the seat is fine too. I replaced it all because I got a good deal on a blown-engined 929, so I just put all that stuff on my bike and took off the whole back of mine. It had 700 miles on it at the time of the accident, so it's barely used.

I have *some* plastic, but it's scratched up from my accident. I have the tail section and some of the fairings. It's from a 2000 yellow/black.

I'd be willing to deal with you on the parts if you're interested. Let me know what you need and I'll let you know what I have (need to pull the old bike parts out of storage). I have a whole ton of parts for a 929 over here...

You can reach me at mbrunton2@aol.com.

-Mike

Thanks a lot to all of you for your advice and opinions. I am following up on every ONE of the leads. A lot of great options.

FYI Chris... I just emailed Mike. I will let you know if he has anything that I don't need. I do have a couple pieces of plastic that survived so if anything is duplicated I will let you know. Chris, there is some racing plastic for a 929 on EBay... don't remember how much, but if you're looking for just racing plastic I remember that it seemed to be a good deal.
