Setup Vision Boots

I ordered a pair of Setup Vision boots (black, size 44) from New Enough to replace my mid-boots that I've worn in pretty well.

Truth be told I'm a little underwhelmed. The zipper on the left boot wouldn't join fully at the very bottom of the boot. If I moved my left foot in a certain way it would unzip itself from the bottom up; not good. I messed around with the zipper and now it appears to be better.

When I'm riding and my ankle is bent the area where the foot meets the ankle folds in a little bit causing some pressure. Sometimes it's annoying and other times it's not there. I think it's one of those things that will go away once it breaks in.

I'll give them another week of riding before I make my final judgment. I know, "you get what you pay for" ($130ish bucks shipped), but I've heard these are one of those rare exceptions. They sure do look nice...

Stay tuned. I have a pretty good cold right now, so I'm staying off the bike until it subsides.

-Sean

I had looked at these and opted to pay the extra $70 and get the Sidi B-2 boots. I couldn't have asked for a better boot and at a decent price.

if the zipper is coming undone I'd send them back. mine have never done that, nor have they creased uncomftorably across my ankle. not defending them.. just wierd...

The zipper thing appears to have stopped, and the ankle crease is lessening the more the break in. I still may send them back for another pair just for safety reason. You know, in case the zipper on mine is deficient.

new enough is great about sending things back but... if you wait to long they might make you deal with Set up themselves

Yeah, I've returned a few things to them in the past, they are phenomenal.

NewEnough ended up sending me a replacement set. They are MUCH better than the first pair.

For the money I'd say the boots can't be beat. And after a week or so they break in and become pretty damn comfy.

I picked up Oxtar TCS from motorcyclecloseouts for $129. Great fit and comfort, yet protects & holds up well in a crash. Tested them at the track

Last I knew, those boots were made under the Sidi name as a sister company....
I like my Sidi Vertigo's.
