K&N Filter

Looked online and even on the K&N website for an air filter for my bike. Cheapest I found was surpringly AutoZone. Walked in with the part number, and will get called in 2 days to pick it up. $41.99 too, not bad

Re: K&N Filter

BMC is like $80, plus I'd have to map my bike with a PCIII that i dont have yet. maybe later on i'll look into a BMC. but my GSX-R wont see the track, so BMC is a little overkill for me

Re: K&N Filter

So why'd ya go to K&N then?
On my bike it's no better than the stock one.

Re: K&N Filter

well i needed a new one for this season, and i figured i'd try something different than OEM. i've had K&N's on my truck, and had great luck with them. like to be able to re-oil them instead of replacing too. i'm not looking for performance gains. with not taking the bike to the track, i will never (nor plan on) be able to ride the bike to full performance. even though i'm on a GSX-R, i'm not going to dump tons of cash to make it faster, when i know i dont need it

Re: K&N Filter

Your OEM filter wasn't reusable? Bummer... my ZX came w/ one from the factory. I thought most supersports did.

Re: K&N Filter

could have, not sure. bad thing about being new to bikes, is you learn everything the hard way. but from what i've heard, they're not reusable.

Re: K&N Filter

yea, that's why i went with K&N for now. I was actually gonna call you & ask what you had on your bike. BMC's require remapping and i dont have a PCIII yet

Re: K&N Filter

yea i would need a custom map made because my exhaust is for the K5-K6 1000's. called around, and it's $300 for a map plus the $160 for the PCIII online

Re: K&N Filter

NoNo My man call fuelmoto and ask him what he thinks but either way....you would just have it Dyno tuned it up at RJ cycles for 250 to Dial it in No matter the header or pipe is....in some ways even if you have a map its still not 100% right on due to many diff conditions....its just a easy way to tune a bike short of the Dyno.....and the only way is to have a good tuner dial it in...but i would just slap a map in and nt wrry about it...
