Seacoast Cycle in Windham - your opinions.I got my bike here, although it wasn't their sale - it was a friend of the owners (Chuck Chounard (sp?) who apparently is a known racer around here. Anyways. 3 seasons and about 4k in repairs later, my bike still needs work. When it runs, it runs AWESOME. And it runs 99% of the time. But the thing just ends up in the shop once a season with the same no-start problem. I've replaced most of the electrical system, the carbs, had the pistons compression tested, new regulator/rectifier, new battery.. Does anyone have any experience with this place? Jesse's a good guy - but my bike still doesn't run 100% and by now.. It should.. |

Seacoast Cycle in Windham - your opinions. While I can't speak from personal, first-hand experience about Jessie's knowledge as a mechanic, I can tell you that Aprilia (US based in GA) and specifically Aprilia's Vice President of Parts and Service spoke very highly of Jessie's abilities when I handled a recent case involving a lemon Laverda. (Aprilia bought Laverda). They considered him to be "the most knowledgeable shop in this area" when it came to Aprilia (and Laverda) motorcycles. (I realize that you don't own an Aprilia). The Laverda problem did involve a very similar problem to yours. Spontaneous, electrical failure resulting in non-start. Note: The Laverda had never been serviced by him before, it was taken to his shop at Aprilia's request. Since this matter involved a client, I was skeptical, but found Jessie to be forthright and well versed in mechanical and electrical systems. I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you, but it does speak of his competence as seen by a manufacturer. If he had complaints, they would have been focused toward the Aprila Parts and Service VP. Their subsequent recommendation would indicate that he didn't have any, and perhaps Aprilia had receive some postive feedback from customers.
