Motorace and IXS leathers

I recently noticed Dave’s post here about the Motorace Dainese leathers clearance. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the post until the item I wanted was on eBay. The suit I was interested in was the Dainese TH1 Black/Grey two-piece in size 56.

This last weekend, I was the winning bidder of said auction and contacted Dave on Monday to arrange payment and delivery. He offered to meet me that evening to hand deliver the suit to me.

Unfortunately, I mistakenly thought the meeting was for an hour later than it was actually scheduled for and I accidentally stood him up. I called Dave, apologized, and he arranged to meet me first thing Tuesday morning.

At the appointed time we met and he gave me the suit. I went home and tried it on. It fit quite well but when I looked in the mirror I noticed that the adjustable waist fastening strap was missing. It had apparently been shorn off. The suit was obviously new, still in the plastic with the tags on; so I was unsure what had happened. I emailed Dave, who responded within minutes that I should call him to arrange something.

When I contacted Dave he offered me a few options. I could either have the suit sent out for repair, at Motorace’s expense; or I could opt for a 1-piece IXS Kylami suit. I stated that I wasn’t sure what size IXS suit that I’d fit into because sometimes I wear a 44/54 Euro, and with other manufacturers (Dainese, Alpinestars) a 46/56 Euro. Dave stated that he’d meet me with both size 54 and 56 suits and that I could try them on at home and just return the suits that I didn’t want.

We met at 3:00 PM that day and I returned my TH1 suit. Dave handed me three suits, including another TH1 that he’d found and the 2 IXS suits; and we made arrangements for me to drop the 2 suits I didn’t want on Thursday AM (I was going to be busy on Wednesday, so he gave me an extra day).

I got home and discovered the IXS Kylami 54 to be the best fitting. To my delight, I also found that it is perfed. Furthermore, I was very impressed with the overall quality of the construction and the leather, which feels very similar to that featured on the Dainese suit. I emailed Dave to let him know and asked if he could perhaps meet me in Palmer that night to take the other 2 suits off my hands. He said that he was willing to do that for me.

As someone who works in a service industry (I’m an RN in charge of a critical care unit at a major medical center) I was struck with how professionally and responsively Dave handled this transaction.

I look forward to doing business with Dave and Motorace again in the future and would urge others to do so as well.

man, I love to hear stories like this.

as someone who is also involved in customer service-- and who's had / heard about his share of crappy service-- it's always good to hear about CS done the way it oughta be done.

WTG, Dave!

Jason - Thanks!!

I was more than happy to help you out.

I sold a TON of Dainese the last month through Ebay, and then guys who bought posted my sales on various message boards. I was shipping stuff all over the world.

The IXS leather is next. A very good product, IXS is a Swiss company who is Dainese' biggest rival in Europe. The leather is very good, and I think has a nicer feel than the Dainese. However, it has not made much headway here.

Dainese has had a 25 year head start in the USA, while IXS has only been here four.

The IXS textile's are incredible. Very well-made, versitile and they have a ton of features.

I will be blowing out IXS leathers and leather jackets soon. The time is right.

I can vouch for the quality of the IXS textile pants, EXCELLENT!
I can also say, without a doubt, Dave is by far the best guy to deal with!

I uploaded a couple of quick pics to my member gallery. I'm headed out the door right now, but I'll upload them to this thread later.

EDIT: everytime I try to post the pics I just get question marks. Guess ya'all just have to click on my gallery.

Bump for a great vendor. Just got another great deal on the IXS Apollo jacket. It is very nice. If anyone makes a nicer textile jacket, I want to see it.

I'd like to add to this... I had a really good experience with motorace too. I ordered my Dainese Luce leathers from them and the customer service was great, they were willing to work with me to find something that would fit me, even though it took 2 tries.

Oh hey, Karaya One works at motorace? were you the one i talked to on the phone?

Nah, they don't let Dave near the 'phones. He just makes the tea and sweeps the floor.
