I am going to rant and I am sure I will get an "I told you so". I ordered some well nuts for the 954 on 4/15/04. I was told that they will be there in a couple of days. Well several phone calls later I kept getting tomorrow. Today I called and I get some guy in parts. I ask if the part is in and he says "no, they are on back order" I then ask since when. He replies "since you ordered them" I then tell him that I have called several times and was being told call tomorrow and if they were on back order why no one called me to tell me this. Of course he had no answer and I could tell that he didn't care either.

He then gets rude and says "do you want me to cancel the order?" I tell him to cancel it and send me my money.

I do not have a problem with parts going on back order. What I do have a problem with is incompetent people and shops. I will not give those Asses any of my money Ever!!! and I recommend that no one else does either.

Yes, as a Lockhart dealer myself , i find that lockhart=backorder. I'm still waiting for my solid gold fuses from them! ha ha . Their stuff is only in stock about 25% of the time. I have 2 different sizes of well nut kits in stock here if you need them. Jon

Twrayinma,

You are right. Backorders happen and I am OK with that. What I wasn't OK with was that apparently they were on back order from the beginning and they were not competent enough to make a phone call to me, to let me know. It was only $10.00, but it could have been more money and I expect a good dealer to make a call and let the customer decide on whether to keep the order open or close it out and get a refund.

BTW, I went through Seacoast down the street and another distributor, so thanks for the offer on the wellnuts.

This sounds familiar. I ordered a yoshi slip-on from Cycle Gear in Manchester, CT on Feb 28th. They said it would be in in 5-6 days. I called on the 7th day and they said it was on back order til mid March. I called mid March ... geuss what?! It's on back order til end of April!! Did they call me once to let me know? No! Wonder what's gonna happen when I call on Monday to see what's up?

Cycles is horrible. It took 6 weeks of BS for them to NOT get my exhaust. GBM got it within 5 days.

Their 'tude sucks up there.

They turned away my wife's business as well as my buddy, they're not to swift.

What really chapped my ass is when they said they had received the muffler but not the midpipe.

When the order came through from GBM, it was in a factory sealed box - there's no way it might have come from Two Bros without a mid-pipe.

...and that's just one problem I had with Cycles...

Yep, just as I thought... "they (yoshi) said it would be at least another week" ... Am I supposed ti just keepo waithing for this fuckin' pipe? I'm thinkin' about goin' back to my original plan: a Two Brothers slip on (even though I heard they rot out at the rivets) Any feedback from other Two Brothers owners?

kinda coming in late on this thread, but anyway....

just had the problem with Parkway Cycles today.

i ordered a pair of Sidi boots on tuesday july 27th(?). told my they would be in by friday. friday comes, no call from them or anything. i cal they just 'not here, try tommorow". this goes on for another week. today i call and get the same answer (a week later than it was supposed to come in). so i went down today to get my money back. they finally decide to call to see "whats taking so long". they were on back order. like someone else said, back orders happen and it's fact of life. but what is *not cool* is not communicating that with a customer untill they realize it means they were going to lose bid'ness.

and then there is the story about when a friend of mine was getting into bike and had no idea what he wanted. i took him to Parkway only becuase they have a lot of stock and he could just look at everything from a nighthawk to a hayabyasu. i go off an look some jackets for a bit while the salesman talk to my friend (big mistake leaving him alone). later my friend comes over and shows me the bike the salesman suggested to him for his first bike: 2004 R1.

can't people be put in jail for doing things like that?

Yeah, and dealerships wonder and get irritated when people try to undercut them...

I have sooo many stories, it isn't even funny. Fires me up when I read shit like this, 'cause it's the same assholes that give out the attitude, then get bitter when their jobs hang by a thread due to lack of business.

I've been to dealerships where the parts guy is some fat ass micheal moore clone behind the computer, who doesn't even look at you, and belches out the phrase, "uuuuhhhh, nnnnno, don't have it.... you'll have to ORDER it."

Yeah, FUCK YOU buddy. :

The thing is you can actually get good service and deal with competant people at GBM. Where as parkway and cycles128 are just horrible to deal with. Hard to believe they are all affiliated.
Wanna have some fun, go into 128 or parkway and talk to them about buying a bike and get the best price they will give you. Then go to GBM and tell them what the other place quoted you and watch what GBM gives you for a price.

Cycle design in phillipston is a great place to order from.
