    Memorial page

We should have a forum page to remember people on. I know there have been a few really cool people on here who have passed and today I was just recollecting a few. One of the messageboard I frequent has a memorial page where you can put something in to remember friends, family and even pets. Maybe even have a section with a list to remember just forum members.

    Re: Memorial page

Generally speaking, I don't think I want seriousness (word?) here until I get it, and then it's quite often really nice and appreciated. I think this is a great idea. I don't know that I could see myself airing out my personal losses to all you guys, but especially for riders past and whatnot. I think it's a great idea if the mods/admin don't mind putting in the work. I could see it being a downer in a way, I'm not sure if I'd read it or not, might depend if I knew the person who posted (in which case I certainly would, to offer my condolences among other things.)

Then again, who cares what I think?

All the memorial rides and RIP threads could go in there?

I think it's a good idea and think it would add a touch of class to NESR

    Re: Memorial page

I really like this idea. I've only met a handful of people from the board so far, but I think we are all affected when we lose a fellow rider (especially given the amount so far this year). This could be a good place to offer condolences, as well as share stories about riders that people might appreciate. I think we all have enough tact to keep the tone of this area light, yet respectful.

    I support the idea.

Sounds good, keeps it off the rest of the board, so, you only see it if you want. Also gives us some relief or gets it off our chest.

I know I have a few names that would need to be remembered.

    Good one D'.

It's in the memory of. There are a lot of people who put the passing of their pets. Why not have a place to put it? Some people put in the passing of relatives so why not a place for it? Some people like to remember their friends and family and they like others to remember them too.

I understand what you're saying and I highly respect your intentions as well as your idea of a dedicated area for this topic. Keeping a list of our fallen, however, is not something I fully "get".

    Re: Memorial page

Sometimes when the "RIP" post comes up in the general area, I say "oh no, not another fellow rider" and get sick of seeing this kind of post.

If it had it's own place, it wouldn't be in our faces so much unless we chose it to be.

I have lost about 1 fellow racer every two years; even it were merely a post for me to vent my pain, it helps.

    Re: Memorial page

I support this idea too. RIP posts probably get lost in the flurry of daily threads created yet these memories of fallen riders often serve as a reminder that wearing a helmet and leathers does not make us immortal. Having a place to recalibrate adrenalin to reality sounds like a great idea.

    Re: Memorial page

to the idea, I would, however support a forum rule to enforce 'on topics' for this thread, simply out of respect.

My concern is someone will pollute a thread with a negative memory when the fact is, it's not the time or place. If that could be enforced I'd support it 100%
