I just installed tapatalk on the torch since wap doesn't work with the new bb browser. So far so good but I'm still not crazy about the interface.

My impression so far is very good. The touch screen is normal (i.e. no surepress like the storm) and the slider mechanism is great. Stability seems great, although it does lag a little here and there especially when loading up big web pages, I think they could have put a nastier processor in it. The app support is way behind (moreso than usual, ouch), because it's a brand new OS version and there aren't 2436534 developers like there are making apps for the iPhone. Some of my favorite apps haven't been updated so I'm suffering without for now. Battery life is on par with my Bold2 so no issues there.
Dislikes: it's a little thick/heavy. The unlock button on top is way to easy to press so pocket dialing is a way of life (though I got the storm slider app so I can swipe to unlock like the iphone - problem solved). And I guess the last one is that they changed the location of the usb port to the lower/left instead of upper left, headphone jack moved to the upper right, and they removed the left side convenience key altogether.
At the end of the day this phone just brings them (RIM) up to where they should have been 2 years ago, but all of the fun shit/new tech has never been their focus. I don't care if they're out there revolutionizing the smartphone market, but as long as they do a reasonable job at keeping up (which they've never done, in many aspects) I'll be a happy customer.

So to use tapatalk you just buy it from the app store?

I've used both extensively and I like wap better but it's all personal preference, the functionality is about the same.

The interface seems kinda bare bones.
