Welcome. My daughter, Jen, also owns a horse (but, like all kids with pets, I end up having to take care of it a lot of the time) and a Ninja 250. She just recently rode a friends CBR600 and is now asking for a bigger bike.
My wife and I just returned from CO (Colorado Springs) and we did not like it there much. Too many people! Insane traffic! I guess that Boston is even worse, but then, we do not go there unless we have to. Western Mass has a much more relaxed pace that suites us better.
Anyway, welcome to the site, I am kind of new here myself. It is very entertaining at times.

When winter hits, now that I have a bike and am hopelessly addicted, I may reconsider my infatuation with Boston, lol. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I can't ride... Somebody should build an indoor riding space for motorcycles, like an indoor arena for horses, lol.
the winter just makes you appreciate it all the more when you hop back on the two wheels in the Spring!
Or they could invent heated gear...

No skiing would not be a good thing. I am very passionate about riding the bike, but skiing was my first adrenaline addiction.
There is nothing that compares to falling controllably down a mountain with two sticks on your feet and in your hands!!

Usually a trip to F1 Boston cures the winter itch for most people. Temporarily, at least.
