    Hi everyone

I am new rider. Wanted a bike for many years. Finally took the gut and bought myself a Ninja 250 last spring. Wife wasn't too happy though

I didn't get to ride much last season due to work schedule and lack of friends, riders. I love riding but not much fun when riding all alone. I need more riding hours to improve my confidence and riding skills. It also not helping your confidence when you're only 5.6". Always feel like they're going to tip over when I walk the bike.

Just bought a different bike this December, 09 zx6r. Anyone on here live in the south shore, like near Norwood, Canton, Stoughton, or Sharon that don't mind riding with a newbie? Man, I really need to ride more often. Thanks all!!!

Welcome - if you ever travel to SNH, keep your eyes on the rides/events forum for early this summer. I typically lead a newbie ride once a year for new riders or people new to group riding. This year's ride will probably start in the Nashua area (but I don't have a route planned yet).

And 5'6" is not too short for any bike

I have been sleepless many nights debating on this issue. I read from online that it's bad to lower a bike. I've done this to my cars before but this seems to be a bad idea on a bike.

Some haven't stopped. With a winter like this, why would you (unless you have it in the basement in pieces)

You seem very new to riding and the riding community but we have all been noobs at one point. I'll give you my opinion on the subject of lowering a bike but keep in mind most likely nobody here will agree. Drop the rear an inch if you are heart set on it and after you get accustomed to pushing pulling a bike around bring it back up and see how it feels. Yes it will compromise handling but keep in mind some riders think they need 1500$ in suspension to do a trackday. At your riding level you won't notice the handling and imho you shouldn't be riding at a level anywhere close to the point that you would consider it a problem.

i agree in lowering it, in all honesty you wont be bombing around (least not yet) that it will impact anything. you ill just get use to the bike and make it work for you
