Just wanted to say hello. This looks like a great forum. I just bought a 99 GSF1200s Bandit and I saw a '99 that had '01 light and cowl/fairing and it looked nice and since I didn't noticed one side of mine is cracked, I would like to do the same...or at least get some other fairing kit to make it look newer.
Are any of the GSX or GSXR frames the same from any similar years or does anyone know of any other fairings that are easily attached to my bike?
I see GSXR complete kits everywhere for about the price of what just the front plastic would cost if I ordered it from the one place I found it. I had found a site that offered side fairings that were carbon fiber and I can't fnd the site again even though I kept ending up there...but if I can find a set that would save me a lot of cash...as it is I had to have the carbs redone because no-one mentioned that the gas tank was rusty and the guy I got it off of's friend was running it...but I have a new tank coming as well...so unless I can find matching plastic I am gonna need to invest in paint now too...
Anyway I know it's a lot of questions for an intro but I'm just getting flustered now that the internet is so loaded with crap it seems almost useless when looking for anything specific....
Welcome.....and to ans your Q....sort of..you can make any thing fit, but the down fall of the bandit is there is no real fairing stay like a GSXR they just have the Head light mounted to the frame so with out some work It would be a bit of Fab to make up a frame to hold up the fairing...or try and use a Bandit S, SV upper and sides and fab up somthin
Just like this on ebay..............is what i would try and use
