    Hi,

I just discovered this place from a link in Biker Bits e-zine & thought I'd check it out. I ride a 1988 Suzuki GN250. What's everybody else ride? Any choppers in the forum??

Suzuki M50 here from Arlington, not a chopper but a low, injected, v-twin.

You're forgiven. Maybe cos Suzuki is my 1st bike, I have a bias towards them. And your model happens to be one of my favorites. I had some money put down on an S40 when I came across mine. I wonder if I should think about buying a newer bike as I seem to be putting more money into it, like an old car that needs to be put out of its misery. I just had a new rear brake pad put on a few weeks ago. I'll need the forks done (soon) as one leaks a bit. Is something like that easy for a novice to do -- or should I have a pro do it? Thanks.

Fork seals aren't bad if you have the right tools. That being said you might want to buy the proper tools and learn how to do it yourself, if not the dealer shouldn't be that bad but call around and get some quotes.

If you didn't think you could tackle the brake pad by yourself, forks are a little harder to do.

Welcome to the forum, bro... There's a couple of choppers on here actually. Fatty Chad's got a custom, Sidewinder too... might be a couple more.

As for the fork seal, hit up the Suspension Forum right here on NESR and ask Peter Kates (gmdboston) if he can do it for you.
