Thanks, Bhudda. I'll be keeping my eyes out for used stuff and closeouts, etc. next season I won't be as strapped as I am now boo hoo.

Pete, are the alternatives to full leather wise?

I guess what I'm asking is if you have any experience with non-leather racing suits and if they are cheaper or as good. and if overlapping leathers will really protect you in a crash.

I don't really want to cheap out on protective gear so getting something that is high quality but used or on sale is the way i'd like to go. but if the consensus around the track is that 2 piece leathers are just as good and they are cheaper I'd think about it.

I can just feel this urge begin to bleed my wallet dry, starting in 3...2...1....

if you've got MOST of the gear & aren't sure if riding the track is for you, finish the collection on a budget & give a track day a whirl. If you know you'll return to the track & want good solid gear, save yer pennies.

Good gear is better than cheap gear. But Cheap gear is better than no gear.

ie, it's up to you & your budget to do what's best for you & your situation.

Thanks for all the info guys. I see what you're saying. when I first started riding the only piece I didn't cheap out on was the helmet. I could see myself doing that again for track gear then investing more if its something I know I'll do regularly. right now I can't imagine I'd only go once and decide its not for me. I guess I might learn I have no aptitude for it (which would suck).

I live in Vermont but sure you can come by anytime. Buddha knows the way (If he remembers after his recent crash)

    I do have a seat. It is from a 92 I believe.

I have a race motor, ported heads and trans, a frame and subframe, stock rearsets, spare cams, covers and valves, race tank, woodcraft clip ons, A bunch of stuff. I REALLY need it gone. I was thinking $1000 for it all but I may take $500. I am just NEVER gonna use the stuff.

Rearsets are stockers modified for track use. Clip ons are New Woodcrafts.

I'll get rid of stuff anyway I can but peicemeal is gonna be more expensive.
