Yes. a 2004 GSX-R 600. I can already see how much majority of this forum discriminateeeeeee against gixxahs. Paid $5000 for it with a one week wait for the title to come in and the dealer to deliver it right to my front door!

9,000 miles on a 2004. Not bad I assume..

Welcome Chris... I too am new to the board... Saw your post and had to put up a pic of my old 2004 Gixxer 600... Got rid of it a few years ago but saw yours and remembered how much fun it was... Have fun with yours and take it easy -- no squid stuff, huh?

What's your opinion on high mounts? Yeah so-so squid. I have the old GP Plus gloves and borrowed armored jacket from friend. Taking it moderate for a bit.

2nd owner before me had put CLEAR aftermarket integrated tail lights. LOOKS horrendous. I want it to look like yours (stock? in red). BTW where was YOUR license plate?

I've never had a bike with a high mount on it... I don't have an opinion either way but always thought they might be a comfort issue for a passenger -- of course, I don't usually have any passengers -- I scare the wife -- so I suppose it isn't much of a concern.

Yeah, the stock taillight is really nice -- The LEDs were really bright. I saw the clears out there but always preferred the stock one. Not sure how much it will cost to go back to stock but I will probably look better. If the bike were all black, the clear might look better but with the yellow, the red really pops...

I believe my old bike was destroyed in a crash a couple of years ago. Kinda miss it -- it was a blast.

As far as the license plate... I was exploring ways of cleaning up the undertail when I took the picture. I eventually went with a homegrown design (couple of L-brackets and a new plate light). The stock tail section looked like crap.

So you sold it, and that person crashed it afterwards? Talk about crashes; my first hour and girl driver almost backed up into my (no mirror/look back) had to rev the bike as my reflex-should've been on the horn instead.

^^^^Yeah, I traded it in... Few months later saw it buzzing around town... Wanted to say hello to the guy but never had an opportunity to flag him down or catch up to him. Then saw a write up of a crash on the local paper's website -- pictures of the same bike. Saw it where it was towed to. 99.9% sure it was my old bike (had some distinguishing features that I recognized).
Sad story -- rider didn't make it...
