    New NH member

Hey guys new NH member been riding for a few years and I came across this site from a craigslist ad.
I'm looking to try my hand and road racing. I currently race motocross and some of the kids at the track are just crazy. I might find road racing a little more tame or maybe not but its on my top ten to-do before I die list.
I've owned a katana 600 a zx6r and currently have a cheaper suzuki vstar 650 I thought the old lady would like riding on the back of a cruiser better then my zx6r but she complains just the same so i'm getting rid of it so i can worry about making myself happy again lol. I've also owned a hand full of dirtbike's and currently have a 05 rmz250
I'm looking to get a sv650 to race bone stock because its a cheap easy bike to ride and seems to be a popular bike to race. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    thanks in advance
    -Mike

Welcome. I'll give you a piece of advice. Don't get a bone stock SV. Get one that is already set up for racing.

    Welcome to the site, mike!

While you can certainly race a stock SV, you're probably going to want one with some suspension work.
Expect to drop upwards of another grand if you choose to do it right.

well a race ready sv650 is what im looking for but i'll take what i can get obviously the suspension on those bikes are very low end since there not performance bikes from the factory.
there are two different classes at Loudon for stockers and mods for this bike correct?

There are many different classes that the SV can run in. The "stock" class is called MWPT or middleweight production twins. Your suspension does not have to be stock to run in this class, but there are rules to how far that it can be modified. For example you can not run a GSXR front end on the SV in the production class.
