2 weeks in a rented RV?

So, I'm headed to Canadia next week. Vancouver, north through Whistler, Kamloops, Jasper, Banff in a (presumably shitty) rented RV.
Just me and the special lady friend.

I've never really spent any time in an RV.

Any words of wisdom from you lot?

    Thanks. Beet is naked.

65mph uses lots and lots more gallons of fuel than 55mph. In Canada I think that means 270KPH uses lots lots more liters than 200KPH or whatever they use for math. Walmarts are free most anywhere except very close to resorts. Ask first. Enjoy!

I did 17 days straight on a 25 foot cuddy cabin boat last year with my wife in Ontario (mostly). I assume the RV will be a bit more roomy, but guessing not a whole lot more roomy. Like when backpacking, gather all the stuff you know you will need and then leave behind everything that's "nice". Plan to stop often and don't set hard deadlines if you don't have to. Sounds like a great trip.

    Stop in Squammish.
    Rent downhill bikes at Whistler.
Campsites are much better than walmarts.
Set up shop and relax outside as much as you can.
    Make good coffee.
Cook as much as you can outside on a coleman stove.

Never drive further than a half tank of gas in an RV. Oh, wait, that's in Alaska.
I'd say campsites are better in that they usually have electrical hookup so you don't need to run the generator all night for AC. Campsites again for access to running water for showers, etc. Better than hauling 5 gallon jugs of water back to the tank. As others have said stop often just to enjoy the trip. Bet you'll have a great time.

Yeah, we have a bunch of deadlines, but kind of had to pick between having campsite reservations (w/hookups) and winging it.
I like to wing it, but everything I kept seeing about the timing (Canada Day) and the popularity of these parks made me opt for more structure than I'd prefer...
Still, the longest drive we have on the calendar is 4.5 hours, so we should have plenty of time to stop and feed the brown bears.

As with any trip, plan your route and timing to avoid traffic. This is much more true for an RV. If you have to take a quick exit or maneuver, the operation increases exponentially in reference to the vehicles length.

And remember, the trip is the destination...

There are 3 ski resorts each 20 minutes outside of Vancouver, all of which have giant camper parking lots.

US ski resorts charge to park, Canada likes to party.

Dump your black water first. Then the gray water.

My friend didnt that almost exact trip last year. He had a great time. He just went were the roads took him and stopped at nearly every diner he came across. He loves that stuff.

Did you already rent the rv? His was sweet and not that expensive. 25ft i believe.

If you don't mind saying, what's roughly the cost for just the rental of the RV? Sounds like a fun time. Especially in america's hat.

Re: 2 weeks in a rented RV?

We're going for 2 weeks in high(est) season. mileage er, kilometerage (?) is additional and I figured 2300-ish kilometers.
$3700 CAD - $2800 USD. Probably better deals out there if I had more time.

I should have been planning sooner as the provincial park sites book on rolling windows of (I think) 6 months in advance and people are sitting at home refreshing web browsers waiting for the choice spots to open up. We decided to go like 6 months+2 days before the windows opened for the park sites and I had to scramble a bit to get the RV secured (not all RVs fit in all spots). I was hoping for a well-kitted Sprinter, but ended up in a small RV.
