    Air gun

Any suggestions on a good air rifle/pellet gun? I think I want the break action charging style, donít want pump or CO2. Looking to exterminate some pests, and if fun enough, plink. A lot seem to come with a shit scope and no iron sights. Not sure I like that..

Air Guns and Accessories | Pyramyd Air has a ton of info & selection variety. Can filter by selected use & get recommendations.

I like the fact that more & more air rifles are coming integrally suppressed...

I have a Benjamin .22 break barrel. It’s got some sort of “nitro piston blah blah technology”, it’s pretty quiet, the scope that came with it is surprisingly accurate once adjusted and it packs more wollup than the .177 it replaced. Think I got it at bass pro about 3 years ago for under $250.

Depending on what your pests problem is, just be careful, as I found a lot of the .177 pellets would either pass through (and keep going) or require a follow up shot. The .22 will drop a large squirrel and anything smaller with a well placed shot immediately. I’d imagine a well placed shot on something bigger would result in the same outcome.

    Re: Air gun

The newest Gamo Swarm Maxxim is a break-barrel *repeater*. This is awesome new technology in the air gun field. I just bought a new PCP pistol, but I really should have bought the Gamo Swarm. Break barrels are better "stand-by" guns - for quick shots at pests who show up unannounced.
The Swarm is available in both .177 and .22.

I have a couple gamo’s and never had any problems with them. I also seem to have fewer squirrels since I got them. They must be afraid of guns or something.
I also have a .308 air gun, but it’s way too loud to shoot in my yard without the being called.
