$240 is only ~2 hours' labor at the shop I work at, so if it took me 4 hours, I'd be pretty bummed.

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

    O2 heater circuit bank 2 sensor 1

    On a 4.0 Jeep Wrangler.

Is that on the back side of the engine?

I haven’t looked yet, anyone know if it’s easily accessible? I swapped out a sensor on the civic but it was right in front of the engine.

If I remember correctly it's on the passenger side closer to the firewall than bank 1 sensor 1.

Does anyone know for sure how many miles a car has to go once the battery... accidentally gets disconnected... before the computers cycle enough to pass inspection? Asking for a friend.

Before my check engine light popped up I went 50 miles. Maybe 60

Technically speaking it's not about miles, it's about driving the car through specific conditions that allow it to run its self tests. I could usually get most cars ready in a single 30 minute ride from a cold start by driving a mix of city and highway. Some cars are very sensitive to the exact procedure and some are not.

    On my wrangler...

Every now and then when I would try to start it it would seem to turn over but not, and then immediately start on next try.

Getting an oil change at valvoline I asked them to test the battery and they said it would need to be replaced soon.

    Ok makes sense.

Last Saturday I drove into work in Cambridge and when I went to go home the Jeep was dead. Stone cold dead, turn the key and not even a click. An f150 hooked up jumper cables and it was charging very weak. A couple minutes the key would turn to only a click. Few more minutes a couple clicks. But then a dumb truck pulled up and hooked up and after a minute the Jeep started like a champ. Okay? Dump truck had more juice then the ford? Either way my impression was the battery was super dead.

I let the Jeep sit since Saturday procrastinating buying a battery, and went out on Wednesday expecting it to be dead again and it started like a champ!

Which is actually not what I wanted, I wanted it not to start so I could just assume it was the battery.

Three days later of sitting and the Jeep started twice today no problem.

My fear is that it is an intermittent problem with the starter or alternator. Or worse.

OR is it possible that dump truck super charged the battery and a weak battery has held the charge?

Clean your battery terminals, neg to ground, and hot to starter connections.

Diesel truck? They have two or even three batteries.

Did F150 R.E.V. his engine off idle?

If you have a 12V pug, plug-in Voltmeters are dirt cheap and can tell you if the charging systems seems to be operating normally. If so The Iglu’s suggestion is a good one.

We use dielectric grease to coat the outside of the connections, though Vaseline or any other anti corrosive would probably work as well.
