What to do with these bugs hanging out on my firewood?

Noticed many of these flying bugs this spring on firewood I bought locally about 1yr ago (sourced from the same town in MA). Some quick googling shows that they are a type of parasite wasp (ichneumnid wasps) that like to feed on wood boring bugs.

So: my wood has bugs. And now these wasps are eating those bugs. Do I need to address either or let nature run its course? I didn't find much info about controlling them. I'm guessing the wasps are the lesser evil. The wasps don't bother me otherwise and fire wood pile is well away from the house. Figure some of you lumber jocks would know.

Those types of wasps are generally pretty docile, but have a nasty sting. For the most art they are good to have around. If whatever they are eating is causing a problem, you might want to go after that, though. I think this type of wasp generally preys on spiders, so it's probably the spiders that are eating the pests. It might just be crickets(a common snack for the types of spiders that live in woodpiles) at the bottom which isn't too big of a problem.

Do you think these are horntails? They don't look like the same thing to me; rear legs and abdomen are very different.

Either that or wood wasp. Many times people use the two names interchangeably. Maybe correctly, maybe not. But appearances vary in each quite a bit. And no, they don't generally "sting". Google them both & compare. Either are harmless to humans but may do damage to wood once in the house.

Looking at the picture, I don't think they are horntails/wood wasps. It's hard to tell from the picture, but they look like Black Slip Wasps, though it doesn't look like they normally range here. See: Pimpla rufipes - Wikipedia

It says they like to prey on gypsy moth caterpillars which would explain a lot.
