You really can't build a GTI other than picking the trim, transmission, and adding the odd accessory. The trim determines everything you get unless you want to add a cargo net, for example.

Did you order this or was it a car on the lot?

If I'd ordered it we wouldn't be having this conversation .

I still don't get how you've been driving for a month and didn't notice the headlights. Like have you not driven at night yet? (which could totally plausible in the summer, but its dark at 430 in the afternoon these days.

I drive at night every day, just never had HID lamps before and thought I just couldn't tell the difference at first.

I guarantee you they will make it right, and do it very very quickly. In 90% of cases, all it takes is a letter on the letterhead of a lawyer to show them you are serious and cannot be waved away. If you need the contact information for a good lawyer, PM me. I know one who has actually taken VW up on an issue many years ago and the owner got 6 free lease payments from VW as a "courtesy" while they were sorting out the issue with the dealer. Funny coincidence, the car in question back then was a GTI 337 edition. .
Give everyone that lawyer's name! Because most would ask for a retainer of $2,500 to $5,000 up front with no promise of success.

OP, I think you're mistaken, unfortunately. I believe standard feature only applies to top portion of that Web page, and those features described by the 4 photos are options.

For example, the brakes shown in 1 of the photos are brakes from the performance package. Performance package is not a standard feature on any trim GTI. So using this logic, the LP lights are not standard feature.

PP and LP are both standard features for the SE. Prior to 2017 they were options.

    Quick update:

I forget what I went over in this thread and I'm mildly intoxicated and can't be bothered to review so...

    - At this point there is a legal firm monitoring the situation to possibly pursue a class action. There are several other issues with advertised features missing from various cars that could play into the situation.
    - The MA AG office department of consumer protection has been in contact with both the dealer and VWoA and there is an offer to replace the car, details of finances are pending.
    - A demand letter sent via certified mail regarding MA chapter 93 section A has been received by VWoA on Wednesday, 30 day response clock before potential triple-damages kick in is ticking.

VWoA called me yesterday and will be replacing the car. It will replace the collateral on my loan, no change to my payments. I should have an ETA on Monday.

If you're lucky they'll find one sitting on a lot somewhere they can grab. I had a 14 Jetta replaced by VWoA, there were none like it around so they had to order it. It took about 4 months to get it.

Oh, hey there! Didn't realize we had some crossover. Holy crap I can't wait to finally be able to do something to the car... I've been impulse spending a couple of times a month and just watching it pile up in front of me.

I checked the inventory on VW's website, there are four that match locally.

A couple local-ish dealers had a similar car (not exact) to mine but the dealer wouldn't let them go. If it's not a hot car the dealer may let yours go.

yeah, that list is dreamy... may need to add a clutch after though

the wife really dropped the hammer on this car, haven't done a thing to it but tint (i tend to piss away money on mechanical things), it's still so damn fun to drive stock. only thing that's killing me is the stance and wheels. hope to at least do springs this summer.

anyway, real happy to hear you're getting what you wanted all along. you'll love the LP.

I'm not too concerned. Four cars at four different dealerships, that's just my first choice color. 22 total with my next two color choices.

Tint, then clutch will most likely be next, though most of my driving is highway so if I can keep the idiocy to a dull roar I may get some decent life out of the stocker. Wheels and coilovers at some point soon-ish.

Why the clutch? Power upgrades demand it?

Yeah, stock clutch is only good for stock power. Much more than that and it's only a matter of time. DSG is holding for 400+ hp but not so much for the manual guys.
