I'm so happy she made it through and seems as back to normal as she can be.

she's kinda cute with the stubby tail

She is still having issues urinating, and because of that, she's attracting neighborhood male cats as if she's in heat even thought she's been spayed

Wow, is that a hawk? Would not have thought a domestic cat could take one of those.

yes, it's a hawk, domestic cats usually don't survive coyote attacks either

confession time, I don't think she did take the hawk, more likely the hawk flew into the large window that is directly above the door where I found it

It is a good story though, and she is an awesome hunter

the hawk was in front of the single entry door on the left

    Thread resurrection and Merry Christmas!

Our neighborhood absorbed a breeding pair of Coyotes last spring. Neighborhood cats started disappearing, including both of ours. Our neighbor found our cat’s fur in her yard, which bummed my wife out. We didn’t see a skunk or Raccoon all summer though.

People started complaining that the Coyotes were approaching them - and have gone after several small dogs. Folks started posting up various “How To” guides, most of which advise “hazing” including lights, loud noises, or throwing dirt or rocks at them.

So one of the neighbors threw a rock at a Coyote (pretty average, maybe 30 lbs) and the Coyote chased it. They called Mass Wildlife. Turns out this behavior is a sure sign that people are feeding them!

    Merry Christmas to all,
We have Coyotes seen them heard them and now have tracks that go around the house. Our cats are indoors only so I am not worried about them but the coyotes are getting bolder! and would not want to comfort one in my yard. Was wondering about hunting them? anyone no the laws for NH and how close to other dwellings can you hunt? I live pretty close to the center of town.

Not an expert but my understanding is in NH you can't hunt within 300' of an occupied dwelling, "Without the owner's permission."

    And:

According to Patrick Tate, furbearer biologist with the N.H. Fish and Game Department, coyote hunting is allowed at night from Jan. 1 through March 31. The rest of the year, coyote hunting is legal one-half hour before sunrise until one-half hour after sunset. Nov. 1 to March 31 is trapping season.
    A few guidelines were posted.

Sad to hear, Randy. Tough to say goodbye to pets.
